«To negatives to mention in what was in all and all an excellent stay: Had ordered the stay through hotels.com, but somehow they didn't have us on the list... Another time I ordered a Michelada, and after 40 minutes of wait I went up and asked when I could expect it and was then told they didn't have the ingredients... But everything else with the place was great! Beautiful area to stay, beautiful huts and really friendly and helpful staff. Grotto trip was our favourite, you should do it! BTW ...

«La habitación tiene el mobiliario en mal estado en general. Poco espacio para poner las maletas y colgar toallas. No dan llave de lampuerta de entrada del hotel, por lo que complica salir y llegar cuando no hay nadie en recepción (nos pasó). La cafetería muy básica y el desayuno pago con poca cantidad e ingredientes. El personal es muy amable afortunadamente Los trabajadores amables»

«Hotel Sol is an excellent choice to stay when visiting the Panajachel area. Unlike many other places in the area, the building is secure, very clean, the rooms are big, the shower (hot and cold water) actually works, and the staff are attentive and helpful. Although the hotel is in the periphery of Panachel, for less than $1 (5 quetzales) you can hop into a tuck-tuck and go anywhere in Panajachel. I have stayed in several places in the area and Hotel Sol is my number one choice.»

«Special mention to the front desk person Sandy. She really helped me out with flight changes, went above and beyond. The room was nice, sharing one bathroom with 6 people it was quite dirty but once the cleaners came through it was fine. great location and if you aren't there in the morning for breakfast they make a sandwich for you to take with you. »
