Could be so lovely if it was updated
We booked this 14 months ago & looking at the pictures it looks lovely. The fabric of the building was great, but it hasn’t been maintained properly, it’s grubby & needs a lot of TLC. Do not be fooled by the wheelchair accessible tag - it definitely isn’t, with steps into the property & none of the doorways to the bedrooms are wide enough for a wheelchair. The kitchen is very underwhelming, with a distinct lack of useful utensils - definitely take your own sharp knives or pop to ikea to get one on your way. We were so disappointed that we moved to a different property as soon as we could find one (not easy for 4 adults (one disabled) & 2 children in the Easter Holidays). The young lady who deals with the house was very good and refunded us the remaining days, but the mother - who only speaks Spanish & is the person who shows you round the property when you arrive, was very hostile when we left. Pool is great - but you need to pay to have it heated in the winter months. So - could be lovely but if your looking for a spotless up to date villa, this won’t be for you.

Hemos pasado unos días inolvidables en una autentica casa típica canaria, su exterior con piscina climatizada , barbacoa y vistas a un entorno natural la hacen única, el interior de la casa recoge todas sus comodidades incorporando una hermosa chimenea, ubicación perfecta para trasladarse tanto al norte como al sur de la isla, repetiremos sin duda.

Agréable villa à Grande Canarie
Une charmante villa typique, au calme et spacieuse. Située entre la montagne et la mer. Très belle piscine et terrasse. Possibilité de chauffer la piscine avec supplément mais cela n’a pas été utile. Si on doit chercher une petite amélioration, il manque un peu d’ustensiles de cuisine type petites cuillères et il serait utile de changer les poêles. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. A conseiller.

Ein Paradies abseits des Touristentrubels
Das Haus hat einen charmanten, ursprünglichen Stil und liegt zentral in einem kleinen Örtchen oberhalb von Valsequillo. Das Highlight war der traumhafte Pool. Wir haben dort viel Zeit verbracht und dank der Poolheizung (separat zu zahlen, aber Empfehlung) konnten wir sogar nachts darin baden und den Sternenhimmel betrachten. In der Gegend waren wir fast die einzigen Touristen -die herzliche Gastfreundschaft der Canarios, war einfach unglaublich. Ein Besuch im Caluta 2 direkt gegenüber ist ein absolutes Muss! Nach unseren Ausflügen in den touristischen Süden waren wir immer froh, wieder in "unserem" Dorf zu sein. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis in dieser ursprünglichen Region ist wirklich super. Ein Mietwagen ist ein Muss, um von hier aus die Insel zu erkunden. Man kann direkt vor dem Haus parken und ist in etwa 25 Minuten am Meer. Dank der zentralen Lage sind alle Fahrten innerhalb einer Stunde erreichbar. Im Ort gibt es einen winzigen Laden, der alles für den täglichen Bedarf hat und schon für sich allein ein Erlebnis ist. In Valsequillo gibt es einen Spar, der alles bietet, und eine tolle Fleisch-/Wurst-/Käsetheke. Am Sonntag empfehlen wir den Markt in San Mateo zu besuchen. Die Küche ist zweckmäßig eingerichtet, aber ein paar zusätzliche große flache Teller wären nicht schlecht. Die Schlafzimmer sind klimatisiert und die Matratzen sind super bequem! Milagrosa und ihre Tochter Elena haben sich hervorragend um uns gekümmert – Muchas Gracias!

SUMANDO ESTANCIAS INOLVIDABLES
Somos repetidores, conocíamos la casa y sus alrededores y estábamos contando los días para volver. Ir en invierno tiene sus ventajas, ahora hay piscina climatizada y es una maravilla poder disfrutarla. Como novedad, también nos encontramos con un sistema de calefacción en las habitaciones que lo hicieron aún más reconfortante. En definitiva, la casa está totalmente equipada para disfrutar tanto de su interior como del exterior y estar en contacto directo con la naturaleza. Gracias de corazón a sus propietarios por su cariño y amabilidad en todo momento y por proporcionarnos la leña adecuada para la chimenea que hicieron de nuestra estancia largas veladas. Volveremos. No ha sido la primera vez que hemos estado ni será la última. Estamos encantados con todo lo ofrecido (vivienda, piscina, barbacoa, ...), la ubicación cercana a servicios y la atención excelente de los anfitriones. Muchas gracias.

Ideal para descansar.
La casa nos ha servido para descontar y recargar energía. Ha pocos metros hay una para de autobús que te lleva hasta la para central de Telde y desde allí salen buses para distintos puntos de la isla. Para comprar agua ó algo de comida esta la tienda de Nieves que seguramente a mas de uno sacará de apuros.

Hervorragender Urlaub
Milas Ferienhaus ist eine Familienidylle, mit allem was das Herz begehrt. Wir haben die Ruhe und Ferne vom Tourismus genossen. Das Haus liegt in den Bergen, bieten neben dem schönen Pool einen schönen Garten, Grillecke und Relaxliegen. Die Anlage ist gepflegt und das Haus war sauber. Ein Unbedingtes „ Muss“ ist die gegenüberliegende Gaststätte La Calutta II, in der man noch wirklich Gast ist und buchstäblich wie ein König behandelt wird. Der Tennisplatz ist offen und kann genutzt werden. Sehenswürdigkeiten der Insel und einige Strände sind innerhalb einer Stunde mit dem Auto erreichbar. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub und bedanken uns noch einmal herzlich bei Mila.

Un paraíso
Verdaderamente un paraíso. La casa está muy bien cuidada y es en realidad más bonita de como aparece en las fotografías. El jardín, la zona de la piscina, la huerta...... todo muy armónico y auténtico. El interior de la casa dispone de todo lo necesario y todo en muy buen estado. Si que es cierto que algunas piezas del menaje de cocina son bastante antiguas y podrían ser renovadas sin hacer una gran inversión, pero también es cierto que no falta de nada. Milagrosa y su familia son verdaderamente encantadores y están dispuestos siempre a ayudar y facilitar. Un verdadero placer haber estado allí. Muchas gracias por todo!

Wonderful Villa, so many plus points.
We were expecting a lovely villa from viewing the photographs, however, Villa Elena is even better than the photos. So spacious inside and particularly outside. This is a garden to love. All the amenities we needed. We loved that La Culatta is 300 metres from the villa. The food is good at this restaurant, and the welcome is terrific. We ate there our first and last night, enjoying the Canaries wine too. Milla, the villa owner, is lovely and so helpful. Her English is no better than my Spanish, so if you have questions it is a good idea to write before departing to give her time to translate and reply. There are oranges and lemons in the garden, we used the electric juicer and had fabulous sweet O.J. every day. The villa was spotlessly clean and very homely. There is a Spar in Valsequilla, a mile away which provides everything required. The Hypermarkets are found from the main road between the Airport and Telde. We picked up some milk and bottled water from a filling station after leaving the airport. It was a joy to have no mosquitos, even the flies are small and not very numerous. Our best days out were the Botanical gardens near Zafira, 45 minutes drive via the mountain route, through San Mateo. The views are dramatic. We also liked Arguinegan from where the water taxi departs for Anfi, Puerto Rico and Mogan. There is a Fisherman's Co-Operative restaurant in the port, near where the Water Taxi leaves. The birthday meal we had there was absolutely first class. We had a local fish called Chicharo which was even better than Sole. Super friendly staff too. The front door lock took us a little while to work out. The key needs to be the right way up and pushed in prior to rotating it CLOCKWISE. The door automatically locks when you close it so beware. We like to go to new destinations, but would definitely return to Villa Elena.

LoveLy villa but ...
Villa Ellena is lovely - great house, quiet and spacious. However, the house needs some care and attention to detail, none of which would cost a lot. We left a note for the owner with suggestions. There were no instructions or information about emergency services or how to leave the house at the end of the stay so we hope we left it as expected. We managed to find the village rubbish bins. Three of the main issues in the house are repairing the shower in the family bathroom, sorting out the fridge door shelf so that bottles can be stored and sorting out the front door lock. It was so tough the first day back we thought we were locked out. We were also surprised to find how far up the mountain the villa is. We followed instructions fine but at no time were we told the name of the village. We found it out the first day when we went exploring - Las Vegas. Some people might be daunted by the long drive round the narrow mountain roads. We enjoyed being away from the tourist spots but a bit too far. So mixed feelings.

Dear Barbara, I thank you for your kind words and your suggestions. We have fixed the flaws that you tell us. The Villa is quiet because it is located in the mountains. On a small island like Gran Canaria, but that receives more than four million visitors a year, if you want to rest I recommend the mountains. You can enjoy the good weather of the Canary Islands and at the same time have a quiet and relaxed holiday.
