Bad, bad, bad! This hotel has huge potential. The rooms are beautiful and on the most part, the staff are lovely. But when the hotel is busy all that potential is wasted. I tried weeks in advance to contact the spa to book treatments. Nobody responded. When I called in on arrival they were fully booked. Our phone didn’t work in the hotel room and despite mentioning this on day one, was never fixed. This meant we had to go down to reception every time we wanted to request something. Want to get a lift to your room/another floor? Make sure you build in 5-10 minutes for the lifts to arrive. They are glacially slow. I asked for a softer pillow on night one. The hotel had run out of pillows. The air conditioning controller in our room had a light so you could use it at night time. It flickered on and off all night making the room bright throughout the night. Asked for this to be fixed, but was never fixed during our stay and no offer to move to another room. Worst three nights sleep in months. The pool is lovely, but during school holidays is inaccessible. I’m all up for youngsters having fun but avoiding balls being thrown from one end of the pool to another is not fun. Sitting by the pool to ready a book? Prepare for kids that bomb into the water and splash everything. The pool just isn’t a relaxing space during school holidays. Really needs a lifeguard to monitor behaviour or even better, adult only or kids only session times at the pool. Experience doesn’t match the price tag!
