«This is one of my all time best hotel experiences, anywhere. The property is stunning, the food is delicious, the staff are incredibly helpful & the location is quite beautiful - it’s separate from the busy downtown of Victoria but still close enough to easily get to town quickly, with some coastal walks nearby! «Location was everything about the empress. Great food at the hotel and near with walkable access to the heart of Victoria. Highly recommend renting a car as a lot of cool castles and beaches are close drives away. The garden was fantastic and live music and salmon at the hotel restaurant was great .»

«The guy on reception was very helpful and allowed us to move rooms as the first one was very dark and had a strange aroma. Our second room was lighter and spacious but sadly the aircon unit tripped the lights and sockets. Breakfast was not the best and only had frozen gluten free bread as a gluten free option. I can understand why some people like it, but we wouldn’t book again.»

«Amazing stay. The most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. We stayed in the Chelsea room. Amazing breakfast each morning, endless 24hr coffee and baked goods, and beautiful location. We stayed 4 nights and it was perfect.»

«Everything was clean and the hotel room was very nice and so was the pool and hot tub / spa area. The lobby had a bad smell to it everyday though - it wasn't food from the kitchen it just smelled old and dirty (but upstairs and the room smelled fine). The breakfast was so dry and the front desk was not very friendly or helpful. When I didn't have a physical credit card the guy said I needed one and I don't think I actually did, I just needed to pay a deposit for parking and using the kitchen. If ...
