Arrived at 9.15pm and reception was closed. Night porter number provided, which we rang 5 times over a period of 20 minutes. A very frustrating start. A guy eventually came and got us in.
Room great, clean and spacious.
The iron broke and tripped the sockets so they all stopped working. The staff were very good at resolving this quickly, giving us use of another room as we were on a tight time schedule.
We did breakfast as an add-on. On the Saturday morning the breakfast buffet was great, however the staff not great. The young lady serving walked off without communicating with us, leaving us confused. There is a need for customer service training!
We enjoyed the food so returned for breakfast on Sunday morning. Allegedly breakfast is on until 10.30am at weekends. We arrived shortly after 9.30 to find barely anything there, not even tea bags- had to request these. Having had a vegan breakfast on the Saturday we were told this doesn’t exist on the Sunday. It did get sorted but again, there is a clear training need for staff.
Overall, nice hotel. Staff either brilliant or very poor. Hit and miss!
