Beautiful building with mixed experience
The building itself is beautiful and clearly has a lot of character, although much of its original 1930s splendour has been lost inside.
Reception felt a bit cheap and did not match the historic charm of the property, although the receptionist was genuinely friendly and helpful.
Our room was listed as Superior, however being located on the first floor, next to large yellow service bins in the corridor, completely destroyed the New Year’s charm and did not feel appropriate for a “Superior” category.
That said, the room was very clean, the staff was friendly, and everything worked perfectly.
Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the bed — the mattress was uncomfortable, and the pillows were very poor, which affected the quality of our sleep.
Overall, a building with great potential, but some details significantly impacted the experience.
