Excellent stay , really memorable, comfy, very family friendly , location and staff are great - only things that could be improved were quality of some cooked breakfast items , decor around bath tub and air con (bit difficult to control) but overall absolutely fantastic and probably best hotel in area by far , even versus Radisson. Definitely a fan who would recommend for any kind to stay, any time.

The hotel was so beautiful and close walking distance to the city center and the new street station. It was quiet and well secured. The staff were also very attentive and changed my room when I complained about the initial room that was given to me. I would definitely visit here in the future

The hotel is situated in a very central position within the mailbox. When checking in the property wasn’t very welcoming as the coffee shop was closed,there was water on the lobby floor and a homeless gentleman was walking around. Having stayed at this hotel many times years ago unfortunately it is a very poor comparison to how it used to be,the decor is very tired,the furniture dated and the bathrooms very basic. That said,it was impeccably clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable.

Really like this Malmaison and have stayed several times when in Birmingham for work. Good location in the Mailbox with convenient parking and in walking distance to the city centre. Only slight negative would be that some of the gym equipment could do with an upgrade. Otherwise all great- breakfasts are also a cut above the competition and the bar area has a good atmosphere

Lovely stay but slow service
Lovely stay - a little slow to check in at peak time as there was only one member of staff on the desk with no-one else to help him. Took over 20 minutes.

Our Birmingham Go to Hotel, great without fail,
Malmaison is our go to hotel when staying in Birmingham, with its central location and away from any town noise. Fridays checking in only took 1 minute, it was if they knew who we was upon walking through the doors, which was lovely to get our room key and time to settle in, we only stayed in a "standard" room which has so much space with great facilities. We had the hairdryer go bang on us and within 5 mins of letting reception know, it was swapped out. so you cannot fault the service that the hotel offers, being our 4th stay in the last 6 months we will be back again soon enough for the next event in Birmingham

Not the luxurious treat it used to be
We upgraded to a Club room but the lounger chairs had stains all over them. I used to love it when Mal had the snacks and the wine to choose from in the room and it felt like a real treat. Our room was big but it felt grey and empty.

Lost some pizzazz
I've stayed before & it was great this time not so much in that the room was a sad state. Fixtures hanging off the wall, grouting missing, really poor sound proofing, out of the three lifts only one worked but luckily I was able to carry my bags up & down the stairs.

Comfortable and great location
Check in wasnt that friendly. Room very comfortable though pillows a bit lumpy/flat! Lovely breakfast and service. Didn’t feel as ‘special’ as when they first opened

Amazing, welcoming and baby friendly place - we enjoyed our stay so much. Used the cafe next to reception after we dropped off luggage early. Very convenient. Right next to shops. Room temperature could be easier to control, check in quicker and cooked breakfast could be slightly better. Overall was excellent though and will be first choice in Birmingham when we are next back!
