This luxury waterfront home is located on Lake Austin, where you will be just 30 minutes from downtown Austin yet enjoy the tranquility of lakeside living. The house was designed to bring the outside in with expansive views and has multiple decks and patios to take full advantage of the outdoors.

Relax to spectacular sunsets, cozy up in front of a fire, BBQ and dine al fresco, bask in the sun, shoot billiards, lounge around in the shade, or take a dip in the lake. At Stairway to Heaven, you'll have a lot of choices for where to have fun at this beautiful lake house!

The main indoor living area has an ideal open-concept layout, with a spacious, well-equipped kitchen, dining, and living space. Panoramic lake views are the star of the show, so be prepared to grab your morning coffee or evening cocktail (or nothing at all) and step onto the large adjoining balcony to spend your vacation enjoying the breathtaking scenery.

Downstairs you have another spacious living area with ample, cozy seating where you can spread out and watch movies or your favorite sports.

This property is located in an affluent, quiet lakeside neighborhood which is perfect for family vacations, lake retreats, romantic holidays, and groups of friends. Parties are not allowed.

Important note: Stairway to Heaven is named for its stunning lakeside location and also the stairway of 100 steps leading down to the dock. Also, parking is at the top of the driveway with a stairway of ~50 steps down to the house. This property is not a good fit for anybody who cannot navigate the stairs.

The boat slip is not included in the rental.

Per the city of Austin short term rental ordinance the following rules apply to every vacation rental within city limits, with no exceptions: 1) Outdoor spaces are not available for use from 10 PM to 7 AM, 2) Parties and events are not permitted, 3) Occupancy limit of 6 unrelated adults
Cancel within 24 hours of booking free of penalty!

HOUSE LIMITATIONS: While we love to celebrate special occasions, the property does not operate as a venue. Reservations are for accommodations only. No guests under 25 (without parent or legal guardian). No Bachelor parties. No smoking anywhere on premises.

This home is pet friendly. However, there is an additional fee and damage deposit required.

The boat lift is NOT included in the rental. We also want guests to know that it is not recommended that they tie up their boats to the dock for an extended period.

Incredible property with amazing views and access to water… house was very clean and spacious and we loved the layout…Only negatives were the AC stopped cooling the last night (and we didn’t crank it down below 70…) so it was 80 in the house the last day. Also the toilet in the Master has a leaky handle and would run after each flush.

Great View

The balcony view is gorgeous and a lovely place to relax. The driveway down is crazy steep. If you dont have 4-wheel drive, park at the top and take the stairs down. The hotwater heater near the master bedroom was very loud and came on periodically throughout the night. The hosts were notified. Overall, it was a beautiful house and we would stay here again.notified

Beautiful Property, But the Driveway Needs a Warning!

This home is absolutely amazing! The views of the lake are breathtaking, and the amenities do not disappoint. The property itself is well-maintained, peaceful, and perfect for a getaway.However, the driveway is dangerously steep—and that’s an understatement. The property management company simply describes it as "steep," but that doesn’t come close to preparing guests for the reality. My Jeep Grand Cherokee with 4-wheel drive couldn’t make it back up, and I had to call a tow truck, turning into a three-hour ordeal. Clear instructions should be provided advising guests not to drive down it.Also, be ready for a lot of stairs—not a problem for us, but definitely something to consider.Overall, the property is fantastic, but future guests need a better warning about the driveway situation to avoid the same issue we faced!

Starting the new year

We are a family of 7 with kids’ ages ranging from 14-22 and loved our 3-night stay in early January 2025. We were lucky with the weather so we could enjoy the patios as well as the large kitchen / living space. Could use another place to sleep like a pullout, since teens really don’t like to share beds, other than that, well worth the money!

Good but active construction next door

Great location. The only downside was the active construction noise and debris from next door while tying to enjoy the outdoor amenities. Construction workers seem lock eyes on our female guests continously.

Great comfortable home!

We loved the location. Beautiful views of the lake. Nice quiet and comfortable home. Wished the fireplace worked. No coffee pot lid to keep the coffee warm. Driveway pretty steep so we parked our car above.

Lovely Home and Setting - Stairs are no joke :-)

We rented this home for about 10 days while in Austin moving our daughter from one place to another. We are from the area and knew what to expect, however, please read the listing thoroughly. Anyone who is not prepared for stairs and a little extra exercise may be in for a surprise. The listing is accurate. My husband was able to back our truck down the driveway to unload on arrival and load for departure. Other than that, we parked at the top of the driveway. Unless you are a skilled driver or have an extremely small car. The driveway is off limits, so please don't even attempt it. My husband has a CDL and it was even difficult for him. That being said, we had no issue since we knew what to expect in advance and appreciate the listing details stating those facts. The location on Lake Austin is great and so close to one of our favorite restaurants, Ski Shores. View is wonderful. Mornings on the patio drinking coffee and overlooking the lake when it is calm was the best! Property management was also great in helping with questions we had during our stay and being very accommodating with a portable AC unit when the main unit was struggling to keep up with the extreme heat. The fact that we were able to travel for that length of time with our furbabies was a huge plus as well. The home had everything we could possibly need during the length of our stay. The beds were comfortable. The home was clean. We felt safe and the neighborhood was quiet. Great listing!

One of a kind house, One of a kind view

We had the great pleasure of staying at Oak Shores for an extended weekend. The house has spectacular views from 4 decks at various heights, plus a boat dock. The top and main level has telescoping sliding doors that lets the outside flow in. We had family over for dinner and it was the perfect experience. The house is nicely outfitted with everything you could need and the concierge service will help with special needs. Even the neighborhood was charming.
