AC Hotel Alicante by Mariott is presented as a four star hotel, but the stars are starting to fade. The room we got on the sixth floor was a bit run-down and in need of refurbishment. The AirConditioning in the room was extremely loud even at the LOW airflow setting, and it was too hot to turn it off. The queen sized bed made creaky noises every time I turned.
We had ordered a room for three people, but there was only a queen sized bed in the room. After notifying the staff in the reception, the cleaning crew came with a separate bed which they somehow managed to squeeze into the room.
On the positive side, the cleaning staff seemed to do an excellent job, and in my opinion they are the ones holding the hotel's 4th star.
The breakfast was OK, with a small selection of fruits, bread, sweets and cold-cuts, but I missed a selection of paprika, cucumber and other garnish.
The swimmingpool on the roof can hold about 8 persons, the sauna area was not inviting, with a funky smell and a strange 'open' solution. The excercise room was small, but had all the necessary equipment, water and towels, and was a positive experience.
