Flott hotell med fantastisk atmosfære! Fin beliggenhet og god, personlig service. Ærverdig bygning, supert bassengområde. Imøtekommende personale, vi fikk bruke bassengområdet etter utsjekk da vi skulle reise om kvelden.

God service
Da vi ankom fikk en fuktig klut for å vaske hendene og en nydelig juice mens registreringen ble foretatt. Vi følte oss svært velkomne. God service, god seng. Det rommet vi hadde, hadde en vestvendt stor veranda med utsikt over havet. Behagelig å sitte der mens mørket senket seg til lyden av bølgene som slo mot stranden nedenfor. Vi spiste en nydelig middag da vi ankom. (Hummer) Siden vi skulle dra før frokosten startet om morgen, kunne vi bestille frokost som ble brakt til rommet til ønsket tid. Egen transport til flyplassen gjorde avreisen behagelig. Dette hotellet kommer vi gjerne tilbake til, anbefales.

STAY HERE - BE RUINED
This hotel is a joke, a robbery!You are in Zanzibar and you can not use the beach because it is full of garbage and sewage. You can not enter the beach from the hotel, but must go around the quarter and through the sewage which leads to the beach.The hotel offers a private beach 25km north on african roads.Perhaps the pictures are taken here..? The hotel's restaurant is very expencive - Norway prices in Africa!There is no aircon in the restaurant/bar.There is no restaurants in the neighborhood without flies!! The hotel has only one pool, and this is for children with high resistence for bacteria. You should not go out after dark - the locals told us it was not safe.I have never paid so much for a hotel, and I have never been so disappointed. My husband and I rebooked our flight home!hotels.com does not answer my emails

Hotel was very good and nice room with lot of space. Swimming pool OK, but one could not go directly to the beach. Terrace Restaurant on top was nearly empty at this low season, lot of things on meny so not fresh e.g. lobster medalions very small and dry (perhaps from frozen state), resulting in expesive meal. The Mangapwani Beach drive took 40 min, not good to swim at low tide, but then beach OK. at high tide beach small. OK restaurant at The Mangapwani Beach. Breakfast very good at Serena.

Perfekt beliggenhet, nærhet til både sjø og byen.
Vi kom sent til hotellet pga flyforsinkelse. De var veldig opptatt av å opplyse oss om at vi var de siste gjestene.Ellers en vennlig mottakelse med både juice og kalde kluter. Rommet var imidlertid altfor lite.Vi var 3 voksne(innkl tenåringssønn på 180 cm og det hadde jeg oppgitt ved bestilling til Hotels.com. Hovedsengen var gigantisk, men ekstrasengen var en solseng!! Heldigvis har ungdommen godt sovehjerte og det gikk for 2 netter. Ellers var Serena Inn kjempefint. Hyggelig personale, fint basseng og nydelig beliggenhet til sjøen. Maten var grei nok, ingen spesiell opplevelse. Vil absolutt anbefale hotellet selv om det er dyrt, men bestill flere rom dersom dere er mange!!

Serena Inn var vårt siste hotell på en fantastisk reise i Tanzania og Kenya. Vi forventet et supert hotell med høy standard, og alle våre forventninger ble tilfredsstilt fra ankomst til avreise. Veldig bra standard, vennlig, informativ og hjelpsom stab, fantastisk sjømat fra restauranter med nydelig utsikt. Mange gode tilbud innenfor hotellet er også positivt siden det ikke er så greit å gå ut etter mørkets frembrudd. Rent og delikat rom og ikke minst rent moskitonett over sengene. Dette hotellet vil vi gjerne tilbake til.

Hotellet er dyrt men standarden er som hjemme. Romservice gjøres to ganger for dagen. Svømmebassenget stenger desverre 18:30, det er gjerne på denne tiden man kommer tilbake etter utflukter.

Luksuriøst hotel med adgang til stranden
Hotellet er enormt luksuriøst med den skønne udsigt udover vandet fra værelset. Personalet er meget sødt og hjælpsomt. Deres pool er stor og god. Morgenmad er super lækker og har alt hvad hjertet begærer. Virkelig store lækre værelse. Overordnet et rigtigt dejligt hotel i hjertet af Stone town med adgang til stranden fra hotellet.

Great location
Excellent location next to the beach with a very nice pool. Shame the sea has some litter in it. The bar service around the pool is very slow. The young staff in particular need to learn more English and a sense of urgency. Stone town is very interesting but beware fake guides

I was not offered a room Upgrade or acknowledged for VIP on Expedia like usual . At check out I asked about bottle of wine and 10 usd credit . They forgot the wine and they usually give a fruit basket instead of 10 dollars credit . I didn’t receive the fruit basket after discussing they agreed to take 10usd off the restaurant bill. I rather be given the options stated when booked then ask for it . Also no elevator . One party member couldn’t use the stairs and this we didn’t realize . We had lunch at hotel and the food was amazing . The staff is not terrible just not aware of what’s going on . Also we booked the same morning for the room why there was confusion maybe . location is good . Property is old . It’s on the beach which is a plus . Breakfast is good . Room was clean and ac worked well .

The Zanzibar Serena Hotel is a gem. The staff is extremely helpful and courteous. They helped us find guides, get to Prison Island, find places to shop for certain items, the list goes on. The room was quiet and very comfortable with a large balcony. The food was excellent. The location is fabulous -- right on the water. Also, we had a late flight out and were able to store our luggage and use the all the amenities of the hotel. We could even shower before leaving! I highly recommend this hotel. I can't imagine finding a better one.

An elegant traditional African hotel with a gorgeous setting right on the Indian Ocean. The views were spectacular with all of the colorful boats passing by. The breakfasts were great. The selection was extensive and well prepared. Our only complaint is that evening dining wasn’t very good, which may have explained why the place was nearly empty at 7:30 pm. Fortunately there are other excellent dining options in the neighborhood.

The Zanzibar Serena is a lovely hotel in StoneTown. I wish I had stayed there for my leisure/personal visit as well. The staff are lovely. The pool is wonderful. The food is nice. All around, a terrific place to stay and conveniently located.

A beautiful beachside gem!
My stay at Serena was a lovely finale to my trip to Zanzibar. The hotel is beautiful with wonderful historic charm and breathtaking oceanviews. The staff is exceptional and make you feel at home. The location is perfect with shops, restaurants, and landmarks within walking distance.

Wonderful stay
What a lovely hotel! Checked into my room early which was so appreciated. I got to enjoy sweeping views over the ocean - just incredible. The whole hotel is beautiful and charming. The pool area is especially good, with wonderful staff. I also enjoyed a very good massage. Highly recommend this property for a safe and comfortable stay in Stone Town.

This was really a fantastic property, however I think the service was even better. The doorman has been at this property for 25 years - and wow does he have a servant's heart! Made a lasting impression on my trip. Great service, great room, great food - overall this place exceeded my expectations.
