The Sapienza and Piano Provenzana mountain huts, home to renowned ski resorts, are located 24 km from the villa. By taking the Catania-Messina highway from Giarre, you can easily reach (34 km) the town of Taormina, one of Sicily’s most important international tourist destinations thanks to its enchanting natural landscape, its coastal attractions—such as the world-famous Isola Bella—and its historical monuments, including the Greek theater.9 km away is the city of Acireale, famous for its crystal-clear waters, its thermal baths, and its renowned restaurants that serve excellent seafood dishes. About a 45-minute drive (89 km) along the Catania-Syracuse highway takes you to the city of Syracuse and, above all, Ortigia—a small island in southeastern Sicily where the oldest part of Syracuse is located, connected to the mainland by three bridges.
