If you consider renting Villa Bougainvillea - just do it!
We are a family of 2 seniors, 4 adults and 2 children that rented
the villa 14 days during early July. At arrival we discovered that the
villa had been totally renovated and everything was new, fresh and stylish (kitchen, bathrooms, air-condition etc.)
The location is just perfect. It is located on the hillside just below Castelmola.
The view is outstanding. You see the bay of Naxos and all the way to Catania but also the top of Etna.
During our stay parents and children used the two large bedrooms in the main upper floor.
Two adults stayed in in middle section and the seniors choose the bottom section.
We all enjoyed the large renovated swimming pool that was cleaned twice a week. Around the house
the are a lot of flowers and fruit trees. The children loved to make their own lemon juice.
We did not rent a car. Instead we used taxi, bus and our legs. Walking up to Castelmola takes 10-15 min,
and down to Taormina about 15 min easy walk. We bought a Hop on Hop off 35€ 7 days ticket
to use local blue busses and red busses to explore the area.
When dining in Castelmola, some walked up while the others took the bus. We all walked down home.
Similar we walked down to Taormina and returned by bus. When shopping groceries we took the taxi and paid 20€.
During the stay we got excellent support from local host Silvana and owners Daniela & Raphael who did their
outmost for us to have a perfect holiday.
If you rent this villa, take good care of it, as we will return soon.
