The view out the window was amazing as it snowed while we were there.
The new heating system (GE PerfectControl) they put in is a joke. They set it to give barely any heat. We arrived on a cold December day, and at check-in, the temperature in the room was 51 degrees. We set it to the maximum (78 degrees). After 2 hours, the room temperature was 54. The front desk was aware of this and sent a technician to the room, who said this was how the unit worked. He admitted that if this lukewarm air came from his home heating system, he would consider it a problem. We had a long trip and decided to stay. The next morning, the room was 60 degrees. That was the max it ever became.
On researching the GE PerfectControl, hotels can set the temp ranges that guests can set. It also allows the hotel to set the rate at which it gets warm. Hilltop probably chose the lowest possible heating rate. I want to save energy too, but this was unacceptable.
If you go here and freezing is not your thing, take a space heater, heated blanket, or other way to stay warm.
