THE MOJONEO EXPERIENCE: Located at the southeast of Puerto Rico, Yabucoa [Yah-boo-ko-ah) is historically known for contributing to Puerto Rico’s sugar industry, however, this city has a rich local culture, spectacular views of the ocean and mountainous scenery as well as known beaches in our visitors’ top list of places to visit during their stay. At approximately 1.5hr drive away from the Luis Muñoz Marín international Airport, you will find the breathtaking inland treasure of Villa Mojoneo. Villa Mojoneo is located inside a gated community called, “El Cocal Beach and Country Club” which has access to one of Yabucoa’s most popular coastal spots, “El Cocal Beach.” The meaning of popular in this instance does not translate to multitudes congregated in the beach as observed in the San Juan area, rather, a more secluded environment. At check-in, we will provide our guests with a key to access the beach from the gate, approximately 3-4 minutes walking distance from the villa, and on some occasions, you can even have most of the beach to yourself! El Cocal has a small rocky formation that creates a natural pool called, “La Pocita”, which is perfect for our younger visitors, adding another level of safety. There is another area of the beach, attractive to surfers, which has good waves to catch! Besides feeling safe, you will also experience the privacy of Villa Mojoneo’s spaces while you enjoy the freedom of nature. Our experienced and accommodating, super-host will take care of you from the moment you express your interest through the end of your stay. We hope you have a grandeur feeling, because we have made this space available for someone special, YOU! In addition to the multiple indoor and outdoor spaces that Villa Mojoneo has to offer, the gated community of El Cocal Country and Beach Club has a recreational area for kids and open areas to take your dog for a walk with the ocean breeze and that salty smell that reminds us we’re near the beach. The community also offers a trash disposal area, near the entry gate, where our guests should take the trash daily to avoid the Caribbean insects that take advantage of any opportunity to join our guests in their stay. To enjoy the area at its fullest, we recommend our guests to rent a vehicle as the Uber and Taxi service in the area is not robust enough to support the demand. In a 10-15min drive, you’ll find a variety of fast foods, bakeries and restaurants that will add the puertorrican taste to your stay [we have crafted a list of recommendations for reference, to send upon request]. Our guests will also have access to a pharmacy and supermarket in this short distance range.
