"We arrived a bit early at the hotel. Upon approaching an empty reception, a lady came after a little while. Without any words being spoken she pointed to a sign saying that check-in starts at 3 pm. And she even moved the sign a little so I could see it better(?) Then after we talked, indeed check-in starts at 3 pm..nothing to be done. That is fair enough..but the welcome is not warm. I have also stayed in a few hotels in Germany this summer, and have been able to check in ahead of time even if a bit early. But this hotel doesn’t offer such a service..doesn’t bother to check even. We of course got one of the old rooms, room itself is big enough, wifi works well. But the room is dated. Lamps with a lot of dust and holes in them. Bathroom basic but ok. The bed pillow is not good..small. No air-condition in the room..which is a problem during a summer visit. Also no air-condition in the breakfast area, they do though play “loud” music..if that is something u like. Breakfast spread is ok with some hot dishes. Unfortunately the juices was also hot. Expensive hotel that doesn’t warrant the high price..at least not in summer months. "

"I have never met such a service minded and kind staff anywhere before. They always greeted me by my first name, offered safe and homely atmosphere in the most traditional and cozy Bavarian guesthouse. Since I cannot eat gluten, the «mother» of the house woke up early to bake the most wonderful and tasty gluten free buns. In the evening, they offered traditional food and drinks while listening to yodel and watching Schuhplatter. The location was perfect in the center of Partenkirchen with short way to both town centers and the Alps. I highly recommend the place. It feels like family and home here."
