Truly outstanding
My wife and I absolutely loved our time at this inn. Everything was perfect. It was one of the very best hotel experiences that we have had in many years. All aspects were extremely well done, culminating in a superb breakfast. The Wellington fully deserves its excellent rating!

What a beautiful hotel! Completely love when old buildings are shown as much respect as this one is, stunning place and really lovely staff. Eggs Royal for breakfast was delicious!

I cannot fault The Wellington at all. We had a fabulous nights stay, the location makes you feel as if you're properly on holiday. The room was fantastic and had the most amazing bed, so comfortable and warm. The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous and the food was delicious (and reasonably priced). I would not hesitate to recommend it and we will certainly be going back. Absolutely perfect!!!

Stayed for Xmas eve, staff and food were excellent. Loved our stay and were made to feel really special on such a festive time of the year. With the church opposite the pub was all very festive

Visited to meet family in town where my husband used to live. Ellie checked us in quickly. Room 6 in the attic was fabulous. Lots of great touches, shampoo etc, hair dryer, Christmas stocking decoration hanging on the wall. We returned at 9pm and they were closed but Seb? let us in and served us a round of drinks while he cashed up. Terrific will visit again

Great room, excellent food and very professional and friendly team made for an excellent stay. Inconsiderate guest (slamming their door every time the many times they came and went and shouting while having an argument until late) in one of the other rooms slightly ruined the experience but that is not the hotels fault and can happen anywhere.

Hidden Gem, Lovely Stay
A real hidden gem in a beautiful 14th century building with picturesque views over a quaint church. Thoughtfully furnished in a way that feels modern and clean with a more than a careful eye towards the building’s heritage. Very comfortable four poster bed and always lovely to have a freestanding bath in a room. Appreciated the good selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, as well as extras like bath salts, plenty of towels and cushions, etc. Plenty of ambient lighting, nice curtains, very quiet so got a good night’s sleep. Had perhaps once of the best cooked veggie breakfasts in a long time in the morning and staff at check in, breakfast and check out were all very helpful, thorough and friendly. Need an excuse to come back now!

Excellent stay
Took three rooms here whilst we attended a local wedding. The Inn has real character and is good value for money. The staff are very friendly. We ate in the restaurant on Saturday night and the food we excellent. Everything we ordered was really good and the chef know what he was doing. Breakfast was substantial and also very good. Highly recommended.

Great hotel in a good location

We booked The Wellington for our wedding night. The staff were wonderful, incredibly attentive, helpful and discrete. Our room was not only beautiful, quiet and spotless but Ellie, the manager had arranged a welcome bouquet of flowers and petals across our bed. It was really touching. The general ambience is cozy and intimate. Breakfast was included and was spectacular. Thank you to everyone at The Wellington for the perfect hospitality.

Beautiful hotel with exceptional service
Everything about The Wellington is superb. Before I arrived the manager called me to see if I wanted any food prepared as I would be arriving late. Breakfast and dinner were excellent - if you're vegetarian order the arancini. It's worth the visit just for this! Room was beautiful and cleaned every morning. The manager tried to book me a cab on the last day of my visit - but snow meant I was unlikely to get to my meeting on time so the owner drove me there. I'd love to return soon!

What a fantastic find, very friendly, loved the whole place, shame we didn’t stay for a second night as our next hotel couldn’t match the “Wellington” in anyway! The service & food was first rate & our room was exquisite, very nice touches like the “hot water bottle”.

Lovely room, OK stay but improvements to be made
Lovely room and the communal areas in the pub were great too. We enjoyed our two night stay and “May” consider staying again. Food was tasty and well presented. Staff were all very friendly, but many were literally running around looking flustered and busy. I am sure they were, but it made us feel a little uncomfortable. Room was quite noisy as we could hear conversations from the room next door, and music we think was coming from the kitchen??? Probably why ear plugs were supplied in the welcome toiletry set. There were many little things the hotel could’ve done to improve our visit, such as pop to Tesco next door to pick up some jam for our croissants! We even suggested it and they laughed it off! Please don’t be put off by my comments. I just feel the hotel could do better and I am sure they will. 😊
