Ferieparker i Welches

Those of you who were reading my discoveries back in March will recall a rather...um...extended discussion about the battle my partner and I had with the Cold Creek Trail leading to Devil's Peak.

We fought the snow, downed timber and five times losing and re-finding the trail only to have to stop about a half-mile from the end; hip deep in snow and a bit forlorn and defeated.

Well, today we returned to the Cold Creek Trail. There is no snow on the ground, but with a 2,300-foot elevation in a little more than three and a half miles, it managed to whoop us pretty well anyway.

Still, the bete noir is vanquished. The hill has been climbed.

I'll have more on this in the near future, but for now, take a gander at the fire lookout at the summit. No longer active, it is still maintained (by whom, I can't tell you), and serves as a first-come-first-served camping spot, fully equipped with cots, a wood stove, and a ukulele.

Yeah, that's what I said: a ukulele.

«We had a great time at this home! It was clean and the interior of the home was very nice! Overall a 5 star place, but I do want to make some comments on a few things that could be helpful for the owners to do.
