A very close by hotel to all the museums, capitol hill that are just walkable. Hotel in downtown is also so neat, clean and so friendly staff. You have to pay $50 for per night valet parking additionally but that'll take away your headache of finding an offstreet parking on your own.

Started out quite rocky when the front desk failed to answer the telephone for an hour, despite my repeated calls while being transported from the airport (my flight was delayed, I was calling to tell them I was on my way and not to give up my room). Panicking, I got to the hotel and the front desk person greeted me and when I said I had been calling (and emailing and messaging through the Expedia app) for an hour and was freaking out thinking I would be stranded in downtown DC late at night - her response was that she had had a large group checking in and couldn’t get to the phone. She heard it ringing - repeatedly - but just left it while checking in the group. I was - and still am - gobsmacked. I had tears in my eyes from panicking in the car and she didn’t really seem to care. Got to my room and it was fine - not anything to write home about except the light switch didn’t work so I traced the main lighting fixture to a plug in the wall and unplugged it to make the room dark. Bathroom was tiny and I could barely fit my hands under the sink faucet. Bed was comfy, though and the AC worked great so I slept pretty well. The included breakfast is actually pretty gross and served on paper plates with plastic utensils. Not recommended and this whole experience was definitely NOT worth $500 a night. Definitely do not recommend (at any price) and am grateful my stay is over.

breakfast offered was quite weak. The room was in a different building down the street, next to the advertised location.

Thank you for your feedback; to be exact our second hotel is less than 300 ft away from our main building, the buildings do not connect due to the driving ramp in between both buildings, but I do apologize for the inconvenience of your stay!

I booked a room for $267 and was charged more than double that. I was tired and didn’t check my bank statement until I was already in my room. I should have immediately returned to the front desk. It’s late and I’ll address in the morning. But this is a problrm

Of all the hotels I have stayed at in DC over the past 30 years, the Capitol Hill Hotel ranks the best for location, staff, affordability, and hospitality. It is a small hotel with a courteous, accommodating staff who made us feel very welcomed. A special thank you to Alexus Bryant who I had spoken to days before we arrived and was at the front desk when we checked in - she was most efficient and personable. It was a pleasure to meet her. Can't wait for our next DC trip and a return stay at the Capitol Hill Hotel.

The nice and clean hotel and very convenient location in walkable distance to main attractions. The breakfast was offered from 6-10 am and with good food selection. Plus coffee, tea and water were available downstairs during the day. Convenient valet parking for $50 per night and front desk staff was very friendly and let us check in little early. Will stay again for sure, thank you!

The room doors are very heavy (think safe). Our inconsiderate neighbors let the door slam when coming and going. It jarred us awake at 215, 3 am and other times that should be quiet

The light in the kitchen area wasn't working, basic things like knife, drinking glasses, frying pan weren't there. Breakfast is the worst and cheapest it could be. Stuff has no hospitality whatsoever. The young black girl in the front desk is rude. Not coming back.

First time at this hotel, and was pleased with courtesy and speed of check-in from the bell captain opening the door and greeting me graciously after a long flight to the cold water available in a friendly lobby area. Taxi cab driver said not a good neighborhood but was fine and only 1/4 mile from the Capitol (though on Expedia I thought I had asked for 1/4 mile from White House). Hotel is older and has not been renovated for some time, but had solid amenities some fancier ones no longer have (e.g., microwave). Only issue I had was A/C would shift itself to heat in the middle of the night so woke up to a hot room twice. Even turned it off altogether and it turned back on. Forgot to mention at front desk on departure.
