The location is convenient and the view is great. However, the internet is slow. Water does not go down the sink quickly. The staff were not particularly friendly. Extra person charge is higher than most other hotels.

Clean, easy feelling vibe. A light was out in our room. Cheap shower gel. No lotion. Very snowy at entrance , where you had to drive in.

Thank you for your comment Margaret. February has been really snowy for us here on the South Coast and we do our best to clean the road and entrance but like we say in Iceland you wave your hand and you have full of snow again or even different weather.

La magie islandaise
Un établissement au milieu d un paysage magnifique avec un service irréprochable. Accueil, confort, chaleur du lieu, tout est parfait pour baigner dans une atmosphère islandaise. Très bonne communication et un repas simple mais délicieux. Pour une halte près de vin, c est un lieu incontournable.

You drive right past it looks like a house. Was the best room of the trip. Cozy bed and large space. Nice breakfast and cooked is fresh eggs. Such nice ladies!! Was a stormy snowy night and day and we were cozy

Excellent séjour
Excellent hotel a proximité de Vik et juste à côté de Dyrholaey un des sites incontounables de l'Islande. Accueil parfait, chambre très calme et confortable, nous pouvons profiter de boissons chaudes dans la salle de petit déjeuner. Petit déjeuner parfait a noter que les oeufs sont préparés sur demande, il sont excellents.

A perfect 10
Clean, adorable hotel with a wonderful view of the nearby ocean. The staff was AMAZING - incredibly friendly, assistive and informative. The included fresh breakfast that was offered was just the cherry on top we needed for our stay here. Can't wait to visit here again.

The Volcano Hotel is small, privately run hotel with a limited number of rooms. The rooms are spacious with a large comfortable bed and sofa — a welcomed change from the cramped accommodation of the capital city. The staff was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable of the region. Breakfast is served daily and laundry service is offered for a small fee which was a life saver. The grounds are quiet and secluded, perfect for catching a glimpse of the Northern Lights without the need to leave your comforts far behind. A short 10 minute drive to town offers dinning options and shopping. Nearby is the iconic Katla Glacier and black sand beaches providing plenty of natural wonder to enjoy, in addition to the Dyrhólaey Lighthouse at the southern most point in Iceland where you have a breath taking view of the sunrise/set. We are so happy we stayed here and will certainly return on our next visit to Iceland.

Une nuit d'étape entre Jokulsarlon et Selfoss
Petite structure, cet hôtel est bien situé à 15 mns de Vik, ce qui permet de s'y rendre facilement pour y dîner par exemple. La jeune fille à l'accueil a été pleine de bons conseils pour cela. Le petit déjeuner très bon, servi dans une petite salle agréable. La chambre double avec canapé, avait, malheureusement, des petites fenêtres, donc vue limitée pour les aurores boréales. Par contre, bonne literie. Stationnement hyper facile.

We had to shift our plans slightly with Blue Lagoon being closed, so instead of staying in that area, we jut drove straight to Vik and needed a place to stay the first night. This place was perfect! It's about a 10 min drive from the main town of Vik which was perfect. The hotel was very clean and roomy and they had a lovely breakfast for us in the morning. You get a great view of the sky too, it was very clear and we could see the milky way here! It was a great first night in Iceland. The hotel and the room were very clean. Highly recommend!

It was a quick stay, but enjoyable. Check in was fast, the man working was nice, the room was comfortable, clean and warm. We liked breakfast. And it was the perfect location.

This was one of our favorite stays on our 10-day trip. The staff is so friendly and makes you feel right at home! Our room was spacious and had an amazing view. The location is perfect and allowed us access to so many activities. We had dinner there as well and is was some of the best food on our trip! Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at tis hotel. The staff were very responsive. The breakfast was delicious. We asked about laundry and they said they would wash our stuff for us. It was reasonably priced too! The rooms were well appointed. After having to wake up early for a tour, we saw the Northern Lights. The hotel was in a dark place and had an excellent view. The hotel was also located close enough to two other towns to be able to have dinner out. Can't say enough about the location, it was perfect!

Schöne Unterkunft für einen Zwischenstop oder als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge mit dem Auto in der Umgebung. Das Frühstück war sehr gut & der Essensraum konnte auch am Abend als Aufenthaltsraum genutzt werden. Gut auch für kleinere Gruppen geeignet. Parken direkt vor dem Hotel möglich.

Reception and helpfulness of desk staff was superb. Room was spacious and clean. Perfect go single night stayovers. 12 min drive outside of Vic so be aware there are no restaurants or shopping in immediate vicinity.

The meal of a lifetime!
We booked room 7 - huge and comfortable, with a great view out towards the sea on a sunny evening. couldn't be bothered to drive so ate in - they took our order on arrival, and cooked it while we unpacked and freshened up. When we got into the dining room, we were the only customers, but they had laid a table with a view. And what a meal - the lamb was the best we've ever had anywhere! The Greek lady on duty was friendly and efficient, and a pleasure to talk to. A good breakfast next morning sent us off really happy. It's not the cheapest place, and may not look out of the ordinary when you drive up, but go inside!
