It still boggles my mind what happened on this stay. The home is in a beautiful location and could have been a great expereince, but was not at all cleaned or ready to be lived in. The first sign was the multiple piles of animal feces and old banana peels around the pool. I mean how long had this home gone without a cleaning or being checked on if that was the case. The inside had been just as negelcted. Dirty floors throughout, food stuck on the walls, window sills that had dead bugs and hair and a big hairball in the shower. Really makes me wonder what happened here because nobody would have felt comfortable leaving this home for a guest. There were trails of bugs going on counters and up walls. I reached out to the manager and to their credit they did send a cleaner the next morning, but that was very cursory. A quick sweep, wipe of the kitchen walls and pick up the dung piles and they were gone, bugs and everything else ignored. I know you can expect some bugs in Costa Rica and we dealt with them at other places, but not nearly like this. I wanted this to be the perfect trip that others had reviewed but am still in a little shock about what happeneed to me and my family and how this place could have been rented out in the condition we found it.
