The front desk and concierge staff reflected what you expect from an older luxury hotel—welcoming, calm, and efficient. Check-in was smooth, and their professionalism made a positive first impression.
That said, several aspects of our stay did not meet expectations.
Upon arrival, we learned the hotel pool was out of service. This was particularly disappointing, as it was the main amenity my children were looking forward to, and this information was not clearly communicated in advance.
Breakfast service was also an issue. I had paid for breakfast to be included with our stay, yet the server repeatedly referred to it as “free,” despite there being an added cost as part of the booking. The service felt rushed and abrupt. I was asked to sign paperwork while actively eating, which was uncomfortable and unnecessary at that moment. We also observed the same server attempting to clear another guest’s plate before he had finished eating, requiring him to stop her.
In-room amenities were inconsistent for a booking of three guests. The room was initially stocked with only two towels, requiring me to request additional ones. I also requested cotton swabs for three people and received only one. However, when I asked for toothbrushes, they were provided promptly and without issue, which I appreciated.
