This is not the average rental property; it's our home. (We spend the summers and fall in Green Valley and the winters and spring in Alabama.) Thus, you'd be walking into a newly-renovated home that is fully stocked with everything you'd want or need. Feel free to use any of the herbs and spices in the cabinets and anything that is in the refrigerator, freezer or pantry in the kitchen. Cleaning products are in each bathroom and the hall closet, and first aid supplies are in the master bath. You won't have to buy anything that you'd normally have to stock up on when you rent an empty property. So that's just the beginning! The house is very comfortable. There are two large (75") flat screen tv/s, one in the tv area off the kitchen and the other in the office/den. There is no cable tv, but we have Roku, Netflix, Apple+ and antennae for network stations. Green Valley Recreation tenant passes will be included in the rent. GVR offers a variety of activities to members. There are multiple GVR centers throughout the area and each has a pool and exercise facility along with various groups for anything from woodworking and lapidary to ceramics and stained glass. There are tennis and pickleball courts and while GVR doesn't have a golf course, the home is on the 14th tee of the San Ignacio Golf Course. There are several other public courses as well. Cultural activities abound. GVR offers a variety of movies and shows and the Community Performing Arts Center is a 10-minute drive away. They feature a wide variety of live entertainment. There are several excellent restaurants right in town including many Mexican eateries, Italian, Mediterranean, and traditional American fare. And most of the fast food establishments have a presence in GV as well. You won't go hungry! We are about 40 minutes from the airport and an hour from Tucson where you can go to the symphony, Broadway in Tucson, the Gaslight Theater (a must!), museums, art galleries, etc. The artists' community in Tubac, south of Green Valley is another treasurer and you won't want to miss San Xavier del Bac, the "Dove of the Desert", the restored mission founded in the 1700's. It's on the way to Green Valley as you drive south on I 19. Now back to the house: the master bedroom has a dual-king bed with each twin bed being adjustable at both the head and the foot of the bed. The en-suite bath has a tub with a hand-held wand and large rain shower with a hand-held wand as well. There is an armoire, chest of drawers and a walk-in closet. The guest bedroom has a queen-size bed, dresser, chest of drawers and large closet. The bathroom boasts a wall-to-wall shower and quartz vanity top with a natural stone sink and stained glass window. The third bedroom is actually the den/office which offers a comfortable sofa which converts to a queen sized bed when needed. There is a large desk with internet access and two printers and a scanner. That room also has a 75" tv. The den shares the bathroom with the guest bedroom. The dining area offers a magnificent view of the Santa Rita Mountains and looks over the golf course. The living room is comfortable with a leather sofa and loveseat and wing-back chair, although most guests spend the majority of their time outside on the back patio during February, March and April when the weather is ideal. There is comfortable seating in the tv are with a leather loveseat and chair to relax and enjoy the large screen tv. The kitchen is situated in the middle between the tv area and the dinette. It is a large U-shaped kitchen with an ample island in the middle. It features five stained glass clerestory windows depicting scenes from Monument Valley. Pretty much every imaginable small appliance (and some you might not imagine!) is in that kitchen along with every imaginable gadget. If you look long enough, you'l find anything you need or want. The "chili pepper" themed laundry room has the washer, dryer, iron and ironing board as well as a sink and all the laundry products and a counter for folding laundry. There is a two-car garage which has one car parked in it at present. The car can be made available for an additional fee.
There is a barbecue and an outdoor gas fireplace, an oblong table with six chairs under the overhang and a round table with four chairs closer to the fireplace. Since we are there in the summer only, we have not used the fireplace, but previous tenants have and seemed to like it.
This will be your home away from home for several months, so we try to make it as comfortable as possible. While we can't forecast what each tenant prefers, we've tried to think of most things that folks would appreciate. There are family photos throughout the house which give it a much more homey feel, yet we have no objection to having them taken down and stored in drawer if tenants prefer. The price is negotiable for longer stays, but there is a two-month minimum.
