En katastrofe!
Kort oppsummering: hotellet burde omgående vært stengt, og personalet sparket! Alle vi var i kontakt med var komplett udugelige, totalt uinteressert i gjestene og deres behov, og direkte uhøflige. Rommet var et kapittel for seg. Ikke egnet for opphold av mennesker, og skulle vært pusset opp for 30 år siden, eller stengt. Hotellet er en brannfelle. For så vidt rimelig, men ikke verdt en krone! Hotellet må snaredt fjernes fra utvalget i hotels.com.

My stay was beautiful, quiet and within easy reach of all amenities, the breakfast was excellent, it really set us up for the busy day shopping. 100 percent going again.

Regardless of the price there is no excuses for mold in the rooms, generally grubby and run down hotel. If I had known this was a Britanna Hotel, I would never have booked. The room provided initially, for sole occupancy, no 8 was appalling, it smelt vile and had black mold in the window recess. The door hardly locked and could have been opened with a firm push, or by sliding a bank card between the frame and the door. I didnt feel it was safe to leave my work laptop or belongings in the room. The receptionist was very helpful, and understanding she moved me to another room on the second floor. The room was better but was still in need of serious updating and a full redecoration. The shower hardly got warm and the tray needed replacing. I would not stay again.

Nice clean hotel. Great for the price. Bed a little hard for my liking and pipe work a little noisy. Great entertainment. Staff wonderful although a little thin on the ground. Sign posting to coffee would of helped

Checked in after a 25 min wait at reception. Went to room and it was awful. Shoddy furnishings. Smelt of damp and dirt. Really not good. So we left straight away and got full refund which I can’t fault them for. Needs major updating

Find somewhere better
I checked in with my 6 month old and was shown to our room. As soon as we got to the room there was an overwhelming smell of damp. It had been raining quite and bit and I didn't see any mold, so I opened all the windows and settled in. Not great for November, but had hoped it would help at least. The next thing I noticed is that my internet on my phone wouldn't work. I had zero signal. I parked across the street from the hotel and it worked fine there, but not inside the hotel itself. I asked connecting to the wifi at reception and was told that there is bad signal in the area and that the free wifi would work in communal areas, but not the rooms. She said I could pay the £7 for 24 hours for the premium internet and it should be fine- although people have had issues if they leave the hotel and come back, they find it doesn't work anymore. I paid the £7 and I had connection for a few minutes before I couldn't connect anymore. I was at the hotel for a total of 2 hours. The smell in the room wasn't any better and I still couldn't connect. I explained to the receptionist that the smell was affecting my asthma and I wasn't comfortable with staying somewhere I couldn't reach anyone, especially as I was traveling alone with my baby so I would be checking out and finding somewhere else. She said she completely understood and I could have a refund, but would need to speak to hotels.com. I did this, and they couldn't reach the hotel so I never got the refund and no contact from hotel.

Pre Christmas stay.
The hotel was getting ready for tinsel and turkey time so was being Christmas decorated. It is fresh and clean newly redecorated but with a few things missing. The food was fresh and good. Our room was changed for us as the first room was small with poor facilities. The receptionist was wonderful and showed us different rooms to choose. Our room was spacious the facilities were all there but with limited power sockets it was difficult to imagine being able to use the iron and ironing board. Because the en-suite had a sliding door there was no space to hang anything in there so hard to dry towels which were really good. Small things let this hotel down and we are not especially fussy. But the staff were wonderful.

Staff at check in were very friendly, room was a little cold, very clean and had everything that was required, just a shame that the really friendly and helpful receptionist forgot to tell us there was a heater outside the door we could use to keep the room warm. But it was a lovely quiet clean comfortable room a good night's stay would recommend

Room was clean enough and staff were helpful but building is very dated, no access to the parking area so had to park on street. Very dated, creaky floors and even basic TV struggled to get reception.

Horrible hotel avoid staying there
Stayed at the trecarn hotel torquay Rude staff Rude people staying and gave looks that i had a son playing around on the entertainment evening this is ment to be a family hotel but didnt get the impression. Dirty room and interior falling apart. Overall stay was very poor and we left very disappointed as we traveled 2 hours to stay there. Avoid this hotel.

Very dirty and damp. Very noisy paperthin walls. Mould on walls and curtains. Beds are terrible with no springs. Never booking with you again. This is the second time and both were very upsetting and dissappointing. Nothing was done except Tara moved us because of an extraction fan that wouldn't stop running. Thankyou to her only

A good basic hotel
The hotel was generally good, but kept the cost down by cutting corners. The food was only OK, being the quality to be expected from a large canteen. Rooms were not serviced during a stay, which is fine for a stay of a couple of nights, but not one (such as mine) for 10 days. Perhaps this saving on housekeeping enabled the hotel to keep prices down, but if so rooms should have had the means of guests doing this themselves (e.g. providing a toilet brush to ensure that everything did in fact get flushed away. On the other hand, I have stayed in accommodation where the water did not run hot in the basin and only had a shower. I therefore give high marks for the quality of the bathroom. The advert said there was parking, but not that it was all on-street. The small car park in front of the hotel had been changed into an outdoor seating area, which may have been a good idea. The room was OK, with an enormous ensuite bathroom: it would have been much better with less space devoted to ablutions and more floorspace in the room, which would have meant that there was space in the room for an easy chair. As it was there was one upright chair in the room, with little space to use it and another (bizarrely) in the bathroom. The hotel is well-geared up for handling coach parties, often several at a time. I was not part of one.

Mixed disappointing to acceptable.
Booked a double room, bed and breakfast, through Hotels.com, which was confirmed. Received a phone call on our arrival day, saying that the room was no longer available, but we could have a twin room, too late to find alternative we had to accept. We had booked specifying free wifi and car parking on the hotels.com site. Upon arrival we were told that free wifi was not available in the rooms, and we would need to pay £7 per day. We could not even get a phone signal in the room to be able to use our mobile data. We also found the hotel had no parking for cars, only coaches, and we would have to find on road parking. Not very good on such narrow roads. Otherwise the breakfasts were good and there was free entertainment nightly. However, the rooms are very dated and need updated carpets and decor, the bathroom however was good. The hotel obviously caters mainly for the coach party tours.

POSITIVE - provide free evening entertainment and reasonably priced bar. Truly amazing and accommodating morning manager. Night 1: wee on floor of bathroom when we arrived, broken window, TV remote broken, noisy night - something loose and banging in wind all night. Night 2: changed rooms and the room was clean so no complaints there. Although, quite a sexist and transphobic comedian performing - we could not watch it all as very old fashioned and immature ‘humour’. But if that’s your cup of tea then probs your cup of tea. Additionally, fire alarm went off at 12:30AM. We went downstairs and there was no instruction or clear guidance from staff. Only saw one member of staff who was trying to locate where the alarm was set off. When we were told it was safe we began to make our way upstairs. Night staff member didn’t go outside to inform rest of guests (most still in pjs). I felt guilty so I went outside to tell them myself. Luckily this wasn’t a real fire but I worry for customers safety had it been a fire.

Reception staff amazing really help full and night staff. Food hall staff not helpful and not very knowledgeable about menu and what is been served and lacking vegetarian options. My wife asked the question and the staff was rude. I DONT KNOW!!! Was our reply. The answer I was looking for was let me find out.
