GETTING AROUND
Excellent public transport links include a direct rail service to London Paddington with inter-city connections at Newton Abbot. The South Devon Highway gives good access to the vibrant cities of Exeter and Plymouth and the international airport at Exeter provides a gateway to destinations further afield.
Taxi ranks are conveniently located outside the coach and railway stations across the English Riviera. Torbay Taxis operates 365 days a year with six-, seven-, and eight-seater vehicles.
From the end of March until the end of October, regular ferries run between Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham, with a journey time of about 30 minutes. More information is available on the Dartmouth Rail River Company website or the We Ferry website. Daily boat trips also depart from Torquay and Brixham to Dartmouth, with the journey taking about an hour and a half each way.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Torquay is a chic resort town with a distinctly continental feel, catering to a wide range of tastes. For watersports, fishing, and sailing, Torquay offers an excellent selection of beaches. In the evenings, enjoy fine dining, theatre, cinema, and star-studded shows suitable for all ages.
Torquay is also home to some of Devon’s top attractions, including Kents Cavern, the 800-year-old Torre Abbey with its Agatha Christie-inspired Potent Plants Garden, and Babbacombe Model Village. Step back in time as you wander through Cockington’s narrow lanes, a charming village with thatched houses dating back to the 16th century. You can also walk the Agatha Christie Mile and visit sites from her novels. Take a picturesque steam train to Kingswear and board a riverboat up the Dart to visit her stunning riverside estate at Greenway, managed by the National Trust.
With a car, you can enjoy a round of golf at Torquay Golf Club and discover nearby beaches like Torre Sands. Paignton, Goodrington Sands, and Broadsands are also close by. Visit Meadfoot Beach for sunbathing, crabbing, and lunch at the local café, or embark on a paddleboarding adventure at Anstey’s Cove.
Alternatively, take a ferry to historic Brixham Harbour (Dartmouth) and explore Berry Head National Nature Reserve, known for its colourful rare plants, or pick up fresh catches at the fish market.
Torquay is a true culinary destination. Try The Waddling Duck @ Hamiltons, the Cary Arms, Ollie’s, and The Orange Tree. For seafood, head to No.7 Fish Restaurant overlooking the marina, or indulge in Michelin-starred cuisine at The Elephant. Room with a view
Fantastic location and excellent apartment for a relaxing and refreshing time away. Extremely helpful digital guidebook gives you all the info you need throughout your stay to give you peace of mind
Views were phenomenal. Location close to shops, restaurants and activities. Communication with property managers was timely, courteous and professional.

Location and its views and location can’t be beat in this lovely seaside town
This location and its views and location can’t be beat in this lovely seaside town. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay and feeling we had a ‘home away from home.’ The guest book had the names and comments from many repeat visitors which speaks to this spot too. Thank you for making our stay in Torquay so comfortable!

Spectacular view of the harbour and bay
The accommodation has a spectacular view of the harbour and bay, and a wonderful balcony for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The rooms are spacious and everything you could possibly need is there. Overall, this accommodation is conveniently located, very well appointed and was a great base for our visit to Torquay.
Being able to park our car in the garage was an advantage though the parking space is quite tight.

Great property in a fantastic location
Great property in a fantastic location - not for the faint hearted as the walk from town is a steep uphill climb. Check-in was easy, and the property was clean, with fantastic views of the beach and water.
Hadn't received the full property details (entry process/full address, etc) the night before the 5-hour journey to the property,

Second visit and would recommend again.
Very comfortable stay and ideal size for the five of us that were staying at the property.
Asked us to strip the beds, put into the washing machine, put out to dry and re-make as a minimum the main bed. Bit much to ask when we have three children, check out at 10am and there was no washing powder tablets at the property.

Excellent view of the entire Bay
This is an apartment with an excellent view of the entire bay. Small balcony but great for taking in the ocean view. Very peaceful and nice sized apartment. it’s a really lovely apartment and would stay again. Keep in mind there aren’t any local shops for groceries very near if you aren’t driving so stock up on the way. Really great size apartment for familiesin my case a great place to stay on business.
The shower in the master bedroom had no hot water. Also took a while to figure out how to turn on the hot water which works in the hallway bathroom.
