«Came for a fly fishing trip and loved every minute. The food at the pub is excellent and the rooms are very nice. Gorgeous garden and very well located for fishing, walks into Stockbridge, and generally enjoying the countryside. Staff was very helpful as well and arranged a pre-made lunch for us to take for our day on the water. »

«A great place with lovely staff. We stayed as we were going to Bombay Sapphire, the staff we very helpful with telling us that the bus was the best option at just £2 and the bus stop is just opposite the pub. The evening food was good, breakfast was very good with plenty of variety. »

«It’s a lovely place just set off a B road. A little tired in areas and the rooms are not very sound proof you can hear everyone else in your area. However the staff were really good and the breakfast was brilliant as was the price»

«Stayed two nights for a long weekend, perched on the edge of Highclere Castle for our visit. Quite close to the A34, but even though our room was on that side we had no traffic noise. Nice little room upstairs in the cottage next door. Breakfast was included and that was excellent. Also had two evening meals, sample photos attached. Chef is very talented. Would happily return.»

«The staff is really nice and helpful, it is not the best hotel in the world, but it is clean, comfortable and welcoming for a night stop on business trip. The food is good, at pub standard, the only missing part is a breakfast more elaborate. It is the little place like that that makes you love the countryside of Britain»

«Leiligheten var lys og stor, men det var ikke aircondition. Vi bodde i øverst etasje og ute var det nærmere 30 grader, solen stekte rett på vinduene hele dagen. Prøve å ha vinduene åpne for å få litt luft på natta, men duer og måker holdt oss våkne hele natta. Vi fant ikke noe bestikk. Det ble ikke informert om hvor dette var. »
