Casa San Domenico, sentral toppleilighet med panoramautsikt

Penthouse med en unik beliggenhet i hjertet av Taormina, mellom Corso Umberto og Piazza San Domenico. Sine balkonger og sin store terrasse råd makeløs panoramautsikt. Fra det greske teateret til klippen av Medieval Castle, fra Domkirken til Castelmola landsbyen og til dype blå joniske hav med Etna peak i bakgrunnen.
Huset har en stor stue med antikke møbler, en brudesuite med bad, to dobbeltrom, et annet bad, et fullt utstyrt kjøkken med vaskerom og en stor terrasse i øverste etasje. De store og lyse rommene har råd til en fin utsikt over de sjarmerende smug Hvilke Dolce & Gabbana feiret i sine reklamekampanjer

Den øverste terrasse med fantastisk utsikt har et solarium og det er dekket med en tre veranda, på den ene siden, som er ideelt for utendørs middager.
Penthouse er i en meget sentral posisjon. Gå et par minutter langs butikker og antikvitetsbutikker i Corso Umberto kan du nå Piazza IX Aprile, det greske teateret, Cableway til sjøkanten Mazzaro og Isola Bella. Rundt bygningen er det en rekke restauranter og trattoriaer: for eksempel "Hus Grugno" og "Prince of Cerami" Hvilken skryte Michelin-stjerner.

Taormina er lett å nå fra motorveien Catania-Messina, exit Taormina. Deretter følger du skiltene til sentrum og gå videre til Porta Catania hvor det er en stor parkeringsplass 200 meter fra huset. Det er mulig å gå til Piazza San Domenico med bil, men stopp er tillatt for levering av bagasjen bare. Det lett å gå til fots fra parkeringsplassen Porta Catania til huset går gjennom Corso Umberto og stoppe i Piazza Duomo.

Lovely house/apartment in Taormina

The house is perfectly located in the center of Taormina with an amazing balcony. The 3 bedrooms have air-condition and lots of space for hanging clothing. The kitchen is in good condition if you want to cook at home. A nice living room with space for a dining table. PS! If you enjoy sitting on a balcony in the morning or late at night, this is the apartment for you. Ann made us feel welcome from the first second. Thanks a lot for your hospitality!

The apartment was exactly as described. It was located in the heart of Taormina near all of the shops and restaurants. Our host Ann, met us at the apartment and explained everything we needed to know and made sure we had everything we needed. The unit was clean and spacious with soaring ceilings at least 12 feet tall. The floor plan was open and there was a balcony with a sea and town view from every room. We also had access to the penthouse patio above the apartment which had panoramic views including, the sea, hills, the town below, and mount Etna. This place was truly a gem, and was our favorite of the 4 accommodations that we booked in our Italy and Sicily vacation. You do not need a car if you stay here. I highly recommend this property if you choose to visit Taormina.

Great location in Taormina

The property is very comfortable and in the perfect location near the main street. The views from the rooftop terrace are spectacular. Our main issue with the property was that it badly needs maintenance. The main bedroom air conditioner does not cool, the hot water in the ensuite cuts out, and the kitchen cupboards are falling apart. There are two wall ovens in the kitchen: one does not work and the other gets so hot that you can't touch the dials and they are partly brown from the heat. Light switches on the rooftop deck are taped up so it is dark at the entrance and the light in the laundry was not working when we were there. The television was also not working except for the internet accessible channels which are mostly subscription.

Fabulous location. Good access. Amazing views . Can be a bit noisy at night due to bars below the accommodation. Disappointed that the outdoor terrace was located outwith the apartment on a higher level. Perhaps a bit more information about the apartment eg TV access, appliance information.

Great stay

I hate to write this review because I don't want to give away our favorite apartment! The apartment is in a great location near the Cathedral, with amazing views. The greeter (Ann) is fantastic and will help with any question. We can't wait to go back!

Fantastic location, spacious and lovely terrace but very noisy at night

Great central location just steps away from the main shopping street in Taormina. The apartment was spacious and had lots of character with fantastic views out to the mountains and sea. Property managers very quick to respond to questions and any problems. Main drawback was the loud noise from restaurants directly below the property that went on until early morning hours particularly on the weekend. We understand that the property is to be upgraded soon and hopefully the owners will install double glazing which would make this a brilliant place to stay.

Such a wonderful stay

In the middle of everything and with the ocean and Etna right outside your window. We could not have had a better stay. Ann, our contact, was amazing and so kind and thoughtful in every contact we had. The apartment is generous and airy with the beautiful balconies and of course, the terrace upstairs. Maybe some of the cupboards and some of the equipment need som love and taking care of but that was a minor detail and nothing that will stop me from coming back. Thank you so much.

Loved Taormina

The property is in a great location. As with any hillside location, there are a lot of steps. The apartment was well laid out and there is a/c in the bedrooms. There were 4 of us, so having two bathrooms was great. There is a laundry room with washer as well. The views were wonderful. The huge deck is up a flight of stairs, but we really enjoyed it as much as possible. We walked everywhere and there were wonderful restaurants close by. It was a great place to stay and we would highly recommend it! Our contact Ann did a great job of showing us around and making some recommendations for restaurants.

Amazing view and location

A block off the main pedestrian street. Clean and comfortable with 4 of us staying 5 nights in Oct 2019. Grocery store was closed Sunday afternoon so we had to wait until Monday morning to get food for the apartment. As others have noted, noise from the restaurants below can be an issue for the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms until after midnight.

Perfect Location!

This spacious, nicely maintained flat is in the absolute perfect location for exploring Taormina. The rooftop terrace is huge and provides gorgeous views of the sea. We were just steps away from the main thoroughfare with restaurants and shops, but because it is tucked away, it was quiet and peaceful. Ann was fabulous at check in. She was very flexible with our schedule and provided helpful tips. We had an air conditioning issue with one of the bedrooms that she had fixed immediately - and it was on a Sunday! We did not cook, but the kitchen seemed well equipped and having a washing machine was very convenient. I would highly recommend this property!

Heart of Sicily

The property is well described in the advertisement. It is located in old Taormina on the Main Street close to restaurants, bars and grocery store. The police station and post office are close by. It is close to the Catania gate, a short walk from the apartment. Old Taormina is buzzing with pedestrian day an night with residents and tourists shopping or just walking . The apartment is spacious with al large living room, a suitable kitchen, 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. Several windows allows views of the ocean, Mount Etna and the street. A rooftop patio and covered dining area allows to look at the sea and Etna. The view is spectacular. Ann checked us in. She is English and has lived in Taormina for 40 years. She introduced us to key features on the city and was extremely easy to reach. We enjoyed 10 days at the apartment and would recommend for short or long stays

Great apartment but noisy at night

We stayed at this apartment for 9 nights in mid-April. I struggled to choose a star rating because this apartment has so many positives, but the one negative is a very big negative. First, the positives. As other reviewers have mentioned, the location is ideal, just steps from the main pedestrian street Corso Umberto. The grocery store is within easy walking distance. The apartment itself is spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the roof deck and views are spectacular. The wifi was very reliable and the kitchen was functional and well stocked. The representative who greeted us, Ann England, was prompt, pleasant, efficient, and responsive. The one major negative is the noise that comes from the outdoor seating of the bars/restaurants that are located directly below the bedroom windows. Before booking I had read the reviews that mentioned some restaurant noise, but I didn’t fully comprehend how loud this noise would be and how late into the night it would continue. Even with the windows and shutters closed, it sounded like the people were right in the room with us—loud laughter, conversation, singing, and amplified guitar music. The noise continued until 4:00 or 5:00 am. We tried sleeping with ear plugs, which did not help all that much. We are a mature couple and were traveling with an elderly couple, so we were back in the apartment fairly early each night. This may not be as much of an issue for those who tend to stay out late into the night. If you are of the “if you can’t beat them, join them” variety, then this apartment is ideal. Otherwise, bring as much noise cancelling technology as possible. So, 5 stars for the apartment itself, but can only give it a 3 overall because of the sleepless nights due to the noise.

Perfect!

Cant say enough about the property manager, the apartment and the location. It was fantastic! Traveling with 4 other adults, the apartment was more than enough room. The roof top terrace was huge. We spent most of our time there. Look at the photos. Beautiful!

A Beautiful Flat Just Steps from Everything

This place was lovely. I really enjoyed its proximity to the main road (Corso Umberto) and parking (Porta Catania). Anne was very helpful getting us checked in and helping get our bearings. Kitchen was also well equipped. The terrace has enrapturing views of the surrounding areas. Great place to watch Mt. Etna. A great place in either summer or winter, though you'll probably use the terrace more in summer. My only thought would be that if you're easily chilled to pay for the common room area heating. The bedrooms have AC/Heat Pump units which are easy to use and work well, but the common areas do not. Overall, we had a great time and highly recommend.

Fanatastic Stay

The location and terrace were amazing. The apartment a combination of the apartment and terrace above, very large and well laid out. The apartment is composed of 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, one attached to the master bedroom, a little dated but they were updating that bathroom the weekend we were leaving. Everything is within walking distance and the hostess was very informative and helpfully organizing trips and winery suggestions. Our stay in Taormina was only enhanced by the wonderful location of the apartment, the spectacular views and the helpful assistance we received from the owner and hostess. Thank you Larry Comer

Don't hesitate to stay here in Taormina!!!

Wow! We just loved this apartment in Taormina! First, it is beautiful. Casa San Domenico has high ceilings, so much natural light, very nice furniture, wonderful art, and the most breathtaking views from each window. The rooftop terrace is amazing with views of the Mediterranean Sea, the Ancient Greek Theater, and Mt. Etna! 360 degree views!! The location is prime as well as other reviewers have stated. You are steps away from everything. We stayed one week here. The only issue we had was blowing a circuit when we tried to use the washing machine and run the AC units at the same time. But that was easy to remedy and get around. We spent time hiking the north side of Mt. Etna, went on a boat excursion, visited Siracusa and Ortigia, hiked down from Castelmora, and lounged at a lido. So many wonderful restaurants and the shopping was great! We miss Taormina and this beautiful apartment!!

Lovely Apartment in a Lovely Place

My family and I had a wonderful stay in Casa San Domenico. It is a beautiful apartment with plenty of room (there were 5 of us) and the sun terrace on the roof was a very welcome feature with magnificent views. We were welcomed warmly by Ann who was very helpful and knew everything about the area. Taormina is stunning and this apartment is in a brilliant location just off the main pedestrianised street that runs through the centre of the town. It's within easy reach of everything - breakfast can be 30 secs away, all the shops are on your doorstep, loads of good restaurants too, the beach is a short walk and a cable-car ride away and there is even a 2-Michelin Star restaurant just 2 mins walk down the hill (The Principe Cerami in the San Domenico Palace Hotel). If you are in to fantastic food (and don't mind paying €150 or so per head) this is an amazing night out. One negative - it would have been nice if the piano was in tune (we did have a couple of players in our group) although the people downstairs might not have agreed ; - ) All in all we loved the apartment and we loved Taormina.

Beautiful views and great location!

We spent 5 nights in Taormina at Casa San Domenico and would gladly have stayed longer. The apartment is just steps away from the Corso Umberto where all the shops and restaurants are located. It is nicely and comfortably furnished- air conditioning is sufficient to keep the bedrooms cool. The views are amazing- we enjoyed the roof top deck, as well as the balcony overlooking the nearby restaurants. Everything you need is in close proximity. Ann was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and taxis. Overall, an excellent stay in a charming and delightful town!

Outstanding property and location

This is a well furnished, spacious, and well-located apartment with an enormous rooftop patio with fabulous views. Only a few steps from the Duomo, it is close to the main street, Corso Umberto. I can't imagine there being a better place to be, and the Manager, Ann, is a pleasure to deal with. No negatives whatsoever!! If you need three bedrooms, 2 baths, this is the place to stay!

Mooi centraal gelegen appartement

Een prachtig appartement. Zeer ruim. We werden bijzonder vriendelijk geholpen door Anne die alle informatie over Taormina beschikbaar had. Hou er wel rekening mee dat het appartement midden in de oude stadskern ligt recht boven de restaurants en cafés, dus het is geen stil plekje, vooral 's avonds niet. Parkeren is heel makkelijk: rijd meteen naar de parkeergarage Porta Canatia. Met de koffers naar het appartement kan dan zonder trappen te hoeven nemen.

Great rental

Loved the rental! Great location and plenty of space! The washer was a pain but worked so we were happy. Mrs Ann was rather rude when we arrived as we were stuck in traffic, could have been more welcoming considering it is her job to hand over the keys.
