Unfortunately, our stay didn’t meet our expectations this time. Overall, the hotel gave an impression of prioritising additional revenue over guest comfort. Many activities come with extra charges, creating a constant feeling of being upsold. Our stay ended up with a very uncomfortable situation. Despite booking through Expedia with all children declared (ages 4, 11, and 14), we were told at breakfast that one of our children was not entitled to breakfast and that we had failed to provide thr age. This was particularly distressing, as Expedia requires children’s ages during booking and considers children up to 17 years old (but Fairmont consider 12+ as adults). However, none of the booking confirmations or receipts mention my children’s ages, and it appears this information is not passed on to the hotel. Being questioned and effectively blamed in front of my child, and made to feel as though I had done something wrong, was embarrassing and upsetting. After stressful discussions, the issue was eventually resolved and breakfast was provided complimentary, but the experience itself left a very negative impression.
