We arrived around 4:30, the carpark was busy and the restaurant really busy - wasn’t an issue for us as we were going out.
The reception is away from the hustle and bustle of the bar/ restaurant which was good.
The room was big enough, but the beds are really small. My husband had to go and ask for another room (on his own) as the double was bearly wide enough for both of us, let alone long enough. … so if you are over 5’8 you will struggle.
Room 32 was ok, dated furniture compares to the others we saw, new’ish bathroom but the handles are rusty, the shower tray did nothing to help (fed back to reception - they said OK). I liked how they were out in the carpark , but ours faces the back of the kitchen - bins outside (big noisy biffs bins) and numerous staff having their cigarette breaks - not great.
If like me you are a light sleeper, this won’t work for you. I could hear the upstairs come in at 1am and then others up and about from 5am.
Breakfast was ok, it’s a list of set plates. Quite confusing, maybe a list of what’s on offer and we can chose our own? But the set up was lovely, staff really good. Cereal and hot drinks and juice self serve.
For the price and locality to the Zoo which we needed it was perfect.
