It felt like a bog standard holiday rental rather than an ‘exclusive boutique retreat’ - sadly, the worst place we stayed on our 3.5 week holiday in Australia. Firstly, starting with the positives, the properly is spacious, the location is good and the view of the beach is lovely. But (and it’s a BIG but) when we checked in, the main bathroom downstairs had an awful smell, there were old cobwebs and insects on the ceiling above the bath, badly corroded/dirty plug hole in the bath, and a (live) cockroach in the cupboard where the hoover was kept! The property management did respond very quickly to our concerns and acted on them - but after the cleaner left, we found a dead cockroach in front of the fridge and we later found a (live) cockroach in the bathroom. The fixtures, fittings and furnishings are very old and tired and far from luxurious by today’s standards. The place desperately needs a deep clean and a revamp. All the other places we stayed in Oz were amazing - unfortunately, this place was seriously disappointing.
