«Unknown to us, this hotel canceled the reservation we had made through Expedia. At check-in they told us we didn’t have a reservation and they were full and had no room for us. This left us stranded in an area with very little lodging options (few properties and all had no vacancy). The gal at the front desk was unapologetic and lied telling us it was Expedia’s fault and that “Expedia has been doing this a lot and cancelling rooms”. This was not true. «Property was clean, beautiful view of the lake and very peaceful. Bathrobes were a nice touch, bed was comfortable & there were plenty of pillows and towels. Loved the deck and grill, while eating late dinner in the deck we saw a bald eagle fly in to roost. Saw bald eagles other days flying around as well. «Gorgeous spaces! Check in was different with no in-person contact, but communication was good and room was easy to access. Elevator was very slow, so we took stairs to the second floor room (all rooms are on the second floor). Beautiful room and bathroom with high-end fixtures. Personal welcome note on the table was a nice touch. Record player and records available was unreal but fun! Breakfast was different from most hotels, but very enjoyable. Bed was SUPER comfortable!»
