Stay here :)
I recoomend this hotel. It has nice rooms (we had a family room over two stories), free parking and helpful staff. A lovely breakfast and it is located with walking distance to a lot of the sights in Stamford. Do stay here!

Had a lovely stay at The Crown Hotel. They gave me a free upgrade to the cottage rooms, which was amazing!! Breakfast was gorgeous and staff were polite and attentive.

Request a bath and ended up with shower room only. Staff was very helpful and moved us to a different room Immediately. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room wasn’t very quiet. Could hear people banging around above until late and then woke early due to traffic outside. Overall lovely stay though and would absolutely visit again. Breakfast was amazing.

From the warm welcome on arrival to the fabulous full English before we left, we had a great experience at the Crown. The room was beautiful, freshly decorated with excellent bathroom and White Company products. All the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We skipped our normal rule of not eating in as the menu was so tempting, and didn’t regret it. The lamb shank pie is not to be missed. Altogether an excellent choice.

The Crown was the perfect stay for my mom and I while visiting Stamford. The room was cozy, comfortable and I relished my sleep! The breakfast included was also delightful with local farm fresh favorites. I look forward to my next visit.

Dog friendly
Overnight stay in room 43 which is dog friendly. This room is just across the courtyard from the main hotel. Good size bed, very comfortable. Shower in bathroom-all very nice. Would definitely return.

Lovely hotel & room but not what we expected
When we arrived at our booked hotel we were told we had been placed in the town house across the road from the main pub/hotel. We were escorted to the accommodation and informed as we arrived we had been placed on the top floor of the building (3 storeys up!) My partner and I decided to see what it was like first? The stairs were narrow and did not accommodate the fact we both had luggage to take. There was no lift and we found it difficult to navigate the stairs as my partner had knee pain. The lady who showed us to the room was polite enough but left as soon as we had the key in the door. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated and tidy and the small bathroom accommodated a large walk in shower. Being on the top floor the room was incredibly stuffy almost to the point of unbearable. There was a small sash window which we had to have open for the entire stay. We both had a very poor sleep as the bed mattress was too soft and made the walk up 3 floors arduous! We stayed for one night only and had breakfast in the hotel the next day which we felt was good and well cooked. If you book this hotel be sure to specify your requirements as we found it was not suitable for “older” people who have health issues.

Great location
Great location. Very comfortable stay. Very clean. Great service at breakfast. Internet was very intermittent and the TV kept freezing was my only criticism.

Brief visit
Brief stay on Christmas Eve though busy the hotel was quiet and the service was good. Breakfast was fine though we sensed the staff were tired and had a long day a head. Stamford as a town was busy and vibrant with plenty of cafes and pubs to visit. Beautiful cobbled streets and lovely walks down by the river.

This was our first night in the UK on a month-long trip, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place. The staff were all so kind, the rooms had everything we needed, and food was delicious!

Beautiful hotel in central Stamford. Close to shopping restaurants and sightseeing. Easy parking to the rear of the premises. Stayed in the town house just across from the hotel. Very quiet, peaceful location. Excellent highly recommend.

Really comfortable hotel in great location. Stamford is a fabulous little town. The owner of the Crown is also a farmer, and his own reared meat is used in the restaurant. I am a vegetarian but my partner and friends said the meat was out of this world. The owner can sometimes be seen in The Crown in his wellies! How lovely is that?

Cute little hotel, centrally located. Rooms are well furnished and clean. We were not in the main building and this was very quiet. Only downside was that there were few low beams and we’re both >6’4”; if you’re tall I would recommend mentioning this in your booking notes.

I spent the first 5 years of my life in Stamford and decided 75 years later to spend a few days rekindling the remembered affection. The Crown proved to be the perfect base for walking around the town and fleshing out so many half remembered images. there is a lot that is just the same, Passages, the River and Meadow, and of course the Churches, but there is a lot that was new. So Stamford scored well, but the convenience and standards set by The Crown went well beyond our expectation. We particularly noted the cleanliness of everywhere and everything and the generous service received from all the staff, both face to face and in the background. We had a wonderful time. All of the staff are so very helpful and friendly. The room was exceptional, comfortable, very clean and beautifully presented. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The restaurant itself is also very well presented.

We had a lovely comfortable stay. Lovely bar area, attentive staff, secure parking, great room and wonderful beer garden. The only negative feedback is 1 - the coffee in the rooms are not great. This day and age, Nespresso all the way. 2 the breakfast. My partner had the avo and smoked salmon. Wonderful. I have the full English and it was quite cheap. Sausage was great quality but the rest was substandard. BUT, we will be back. Oh, and absolutely tip top location!!!!

We stayed in the ‘signature double plus’ and were slightly disappointed to get no bath as the pictures do seem to indicate a bath but otherwise the room was clean, comfortable and pretty good value for money. Breakfast was excellent with a great gluten free option. Great location in town centre with secure parking at rear of hotel. Would definitely stay again and thoroughly recommend.
