Check in was a bit unusual: no one at front desk, but a note from the management with a phone number to call to check in. Call went through, and the hotel keeper texted our room number, the door code, and the wifi password.
Room was on the second floor (no elevator that we could see), and was very cold (-8 C outside). We cranked up the heater and still pretty cold after an hour or so, but by the time we returned from dinner several hours later, the room was very warm. We did think that, since they knew we were coming, they might have turned on the heat ahead of time.
Otherwise, very basic room with two comfortable queen beds, and a flat screen TV with no standard channels that we could find, but free Amazon Prime. Also included basic toiletries, towels, etc.,but almost no toilet paper (We spotted the housekeeping cart in the hallway and scored a couple rolls that way). Coffeemaker and some coffee, iron and ironing board, microwave, and small fridge/freezer combo. Small washroom with one of those pre-fab shower stalls. Lots of hot water.
Room was nice and clean but kind of uninspiring, but we weren't looking for an experience—just a decent place to sleep for a couple nights, and it gave us that at a very reasonable price. It was unusual in that there didn't seem to be any staff on-site, and the front door was not locked. That might worry some people. All-in-all, it was fine. We'd stay there again.
