«The renovation of an existing motel is very well done. Considering the price per night is almost 1/2 of the chain motels, we were concerned with staying there the first time. Now, if we ever need a room in this town, this place would be our first choice. It is a motel and not a hotel, which means you park for free at your room door, and enter your nice room from the outside of the building. «Breakfast was abysmal. The choices were cold cereal, toast, yogurt, pre-packaged oatmeal and danishes. The orange juice from the machine was horrible. There wasn't even creamer for the coffee. Late check in was after 7pm. They could not find our reservation from Expedia. They were pleasant and friendly. The next morning, our reservation still did not show up. «Our room was spotless, the only thing that wasn’t was the fact they’re currently doing renovations throughout the hotel. Stairs to upstairs rooms get locked at night and can only be accessed via key card, which adds some peace of mind. Staff was very helpful and if we find ourselves in Salem IN again, I’d stay here again.»
