Flott hotell, men uten heis.
Flott hotell, med manglet heis. Fikk rom i 3. etg. Hadde mye baggasje og savnet heis veldig.

I booked this venue through Expedia, making sure on my booking that I had 2 adults and a child, needing beds. This made a booking for a family room, and so I paid my money. However, upon arriving I found that the hotel hadn't provided me with a family room and instead offered me a put me up bed and a standard double. Apparently from the management at the hotel, Expedia didn't forward on to them, that a child was also coming. I therefore had to make the bed myself. Not ideal. I was advised that it this was to happen again, I spoke phone the hotel post booking and confirm my requirements. Not happy at all. Otherwise the room was clean, very warm, hotel grounds were lovely and good was tasty. I would stay here again.

Grounds were lovely to walk round really was looking forwars to using sauna but not working for another 4 weeks so should be transparent in letting guests kbow this prior too booking at present. Service was hit and miss at the bar food was plentiful at breakfast but had issues with it .wouldnt stay there again

Every member of staff from Front desk, to restaurant staff, to cleaners and swimming pool reception, were helpful and friendly a credit to the hotel. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms comfortable and the food delicious. We will certainly return

I paid extra for an upgraded room, but wasn’t worth it, was the size of a shoe box. Iv stayed here before and a standard room was a lot bigger. Wasn’t worth it.

The staff we had contact with were generally welcoming. Lovely building and grounds with good facilities; plenty of car parking albeit rather spread out and not necessarily signed. We were disappointed with the room allocated for 2 reasons I specifically booked a twin room which was advertised as in an area of the hotel with a lift as one of us was recovering from a hip fracture and still using crutches and stairs are still difficult. Sadly we had rm 5 and despite me raising the issue with reception on arrival, no change of room was offered, the stairs were not easy during our stay. The room was also over either the kitchen or bar and the noise from movement of equipment or something similar on 1st evening was loud and disturbed us for some time. The room was clean and comfortable and had most facilities needed for our stay, although bottled water would have been appreciated.

Pre cruise stay
Great pre cruise stay will defo think of doing cruise and park next time. Dinner was ok not spectacular but room very comfortable and nowhere felt Crowded - amazing grounds. Did not use the pool but other people said it was great. Great price in double room for single occupant and good choice at breakfast.

Great hotel nice and old country house so you expect things to be bit worn but other than that great place to stay before a cruise from Southampton great breakfast as well comfortable bed.

There is a lot going for this property inside out . Service from staff to manager was excellent, they aim to please with a pleasant can do attitude. (Excellent ) staff are well trained and and that reflects very well on manager and is management ability for excellence . I observed a very hands on manager who has great interpersonal skills which adds to visitors like myself and the person I observed at breakfast with physical disability being supported by the manager . With the right level of care speech and tone . And some manual handling of furniture to accommodate seating for the individual. Excellent leadership! One small thing though my room booked for my fiancé and I for my birthday spa break days was the only one left which I took the beds however was creaky , shaky, bathroom under bath handrail had brown stains so need resealing and painting however room was clean otherwise. And afternoon tea and spa had was lovely .

Distinctly underwhelming. The manor is beautiful on the outside, but just like a travelodge in the rooms. Bed was rock hard and so were the pillows so a terrible nights sleep. Really poor choice for the coffee/tea making facilities and not enough. 2 cups for 3 of us, enough milk to make 2 hot drinks. 2 sachets of coffee and 2 teabags. Very expensive all things considered. We have had much better experiences in Travelodge, or small independents such as inns. We would not stay there again.

****Poor service****
Extremely RUDE check-in staff!!! We had checked-in online and was asked the arrival time which I gave as 11am and was surprised the options were so early. On arrival, I was informed check-in was from 3pm! I highlighted that we had checked in online and was given the option of 11am to which I was abruptly informed "You can check-in early and will cost you £25.00" the website didn't mention a huge surcharge if we wanted to check-in early! I asked were the rooms ready and the 2 check-in ladies looked at each other and started mouthing something and 1 started to call housekeeping then hung up and exclaimed NO!, I commented you haven't called housekeeping so how can you tell??? She then proceeded to glance at her monitor and exclaim "my screen informs me"🤔 we passed on the offer of the £25.00 Surcharge and returned later. I believe this is misleading coupled with the rude staff It was a very disappointing experience!!!

Hotel is nice, staff are friendly. Downside is the parking is horrendous and the room was freezing with no way to turn up the heating.

It was okay…
Hotel grounds are lovely but the rooms we stayed in were a bit dated. Beds were okay but not the comfiest. Mostly clean but a few areas in the bathroom that had hairs (not from us) and bath mat had a lot of mould. One of the rooms had a faulty door handle and the key often would stop working in it (it was nowhere near electronic devices) so had to go to reception several times to get into the room.
