The Gainsborough Bath Spa

"We stayed at The Gainsborough as a family in late July, and the hotel was the perfect base for exploring Bath. The location is central, within easy walking distance of the Roman Baths, Thermae Bath Spa, the Royal Crescent and The Circus. The rooms were large, beautiful and well equipped, with plenty of space for a family. The service was outstanding throughout our stay, and breakfast was superb – Swiss-style service at its very best. The highlight was the Spa Village. The hotel has Bath's natural thermal water piped directly into the spa, and we used it twice. It was calm and beautiful, and in our view better than Thermae, which is much busier. Complimentary access for hotel guests in the morning and evening is a real bonus. Worth knowing for families: the spa has a strict 16+ age limit at all times, so children can't join. We simply took turns using the morning and evening sessions. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Bath in style. Five stars."

"Clean modern room with a comfortable bed, AC and a mini fridge. Nice hotel gym compared to most hotel gyms. Breakfast was also good."

"The hotel is fine. The aircon was great (heatwave when we were there). Good room with a fridge, so in general happy with the room. We didn't go to the spa, so I don't know how that is. We did however have dinner at the restaurant one night. The service was so bad and the food was ok-ish, when we got what we ordered. We had to go find someone to order drinks and ask for water, and we tried to make contact with the waiters a long time. The cutlery was also dirty. We saw several other tables (most of the tables) sending their order back. Breakfast also seemed alot like dinner, with dirty cutlery and cups, and no service. It seemed like we could order breakfast from the kitchen (based on the menu on the table stating "breakfast"), but we didn't bother to find someone to order from..."

"Hyggelig personale og perfekt beliggenhet kun få minutters gange fra flyplassen. Legg merke til at det er gangvei ned en bakke til hotellet. Rommet var komfortabelt."
