DİOGENES
Sinop, Turkey Diogenes, BC He is a famous Ionian philosopher who lived in 412-323. Because it was born in Sinop, it is known as "Sinopian Diogenes". Accepting the philosophy of giving up the world's goods and pleasures to be intelligent and mature, Diogenes distributed all his goods from a stick, a bowl and a bag. But when a child saw that he drank water with a fountain, he also left the sac. According to Rivay, one day when Diogenes wandered the streets in broad daylight, the public asked what he was looking for with amazement: Diogenes: "I am looking for a man. An honest and honest man. " The people said: "We have also sought; But they are not found. " Diogenes: "I am looking for the one that does not exist." Diogenes, while in the city of Corinth, was sunning one morning, Alexander the Great passed by. He stood in front of Diogenes and told him: "I am Alexander the Great of Macedonia. What do you say to me. " He replied to Alexander the Great, who lifted his diogenes head and cut off the sun: "Do not shade, you do not want another goodness." Then the King respects his personality: "If I was not Alexander, I would be a Diogenes."

City walls of Sinop. It was pleasant to take a walk around them so long as the weather is nice. I can recommend a trip along the Black Sea coast in Turkey. You will see wonderful crumbly history and real village life. Stop for fish meals at the seaside towns of Unye or Ordu, but give Samsun a miss. The laned highway just takes you on through just like in all the big towns these days.
