Elendig frokost. Toast, smør, kaffi, vannmelon og vann. Det var alt. Ikke syltetøy eller pålegg. Var du tidlig ute så fikk du eggerøre og stekte poteter i tillegg. Takterrassen med basseng var en vits. Ugress vokste vilt på gammel skitten treplatting. Ustelt og vemmeligt. Vegg til vegg teppet i gangen tror jeg aldri ble støvsugd. Fullt av støv og rusk. Eneste som var ok var rommene.

Dårlig hotell. Hold dere borte fra dette hotellet.
Fikk dårlig rom selv om vi bestilte stort rom så ga de oss et lite rom. Selv om vi gjorde oppmerksom på at vi hadde bestilt og betalt for et større rom. Det brydde seg ikke om, men bare dro et slesk smil.

A hotel with a good location
The location of this hotel is nice, just a few minutes walk from the river, and a few hundred meters to the subway systems. When we arrived we did not know that its more hotels with the name Bencoolen, so be sure you also use hong kong street, if you use google maps. The room was ok,nice bed, small bathroom. Breakfast was limited, but good. The breakfast area is very small, so it is possible you have to wait for a table. We did not have to wait long for the elevator,going up or down. Check out went fast, check in not that nice though. After a long distance flight, we arrived pretty late, you just want to check in fast, and get to bed. The woman there, did not say anything,when we came in, she was busy playing a game on her phone !!! I told here we could wait untiil she was finished with the game.

Hyggelig rom og område
Et veldig fint opphold. Behagelig rom, fin størrelse. Veldig enkel standard på frokost, kan bli noe trangt og ventetid for å få ledig bord. Perfekt for korte turer. Ligger veldig sentralt til mtp metro. Hadde gjerne bodd her igjen ved en annen anledning.

Ok rom uten varmt vann og katastrofefrokost
Rommene er ok, frokosten var en katastrofe. Mat eller det som var igjen på tilnærmet tomme fat allerede kl. 09.00 sto side om side med musegift som var satt ut. Vi kjøpte derfor frokost på annet sted. Manglet varmt vann på morgenen.

Breakfast: Not enough seating available for the number of hotel guest. Food kept running out and it can take up to 10 mins for food to be replenished. Hotel Location is good with easy access to MRT and very close to Clarke Quay and Boat Quay.

The hotel is in a very good location. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They let us leave our luggages there before checkin time and after checkout. The room is very quiet, but small though. We only stayed for night, so it was not an issue. We had a nice stay. Thank you!

An excellent, affordable, centrally located hotel
First off, the location is superb. Within walking distance to Chinatown, the beautiful Lau Pa Sat hawkers center, Gardens by the Bay and, of course, Marina Bay Sands. The hotel is also one block from the local bus line to the Orchard Road shopping area. So, a very convenient hotel. The hotel itself is in excellent condition. It having a small real estate footprint, it has a modest lobby where they serve the free buffet-style breakfast, but who needs a massive lobby to hang around it. The room was spacious, clean and perfectly functional. Lots of lighting options, blackout curtains, big TV and plenty of fast hot water in the shower. The Bencoolen is a great centrally located base for a trip to Singapore. I stayed two nights. The desk people were very polite and helpful, even though they were very busy at times. I did not use the pool.

If you're staying here for the Grand Prix, it's an ok walking distance to the track, Funan and Raffles City. The property is very tired and in-room facilities extremely limited. I'd call this a no frills accomodation. I stayed in the loft suite which in essence was tiny. Leaking shower that wouldn't drain properly, water came on and off whilst in the shower. Breakfast in the morning was very limited and not worth it, better to go for a walk to a nearby cafe or shopping centre.

Our room and bedding was very clean and clean towels and toiletries every day. The towels were grey rather than white. The hallway on our landing needed hovering when we arrived, and wasn’t done for three days. The gentleman who checked us in was not friendly at all. Breakfast was a free for all and not enough tables. We ended up just having toast it was easier. The daytime reception staff were very friendly and helpful with directions. But I am unsure how they were a four star!! We would not go back

The aircon wasn’t working in the hotel room when we checked in so we were shifted to a premier room which was more spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean but the hairdryer didn’t work, there was only hot water coming out if the tap in the vanity basin and the shower nozzle pointed towards the shower door. A jug was provided in the room with tea and coffee but no milk. When I added fir milk the receptionist advised they didn’t supply milk. This was the same in the breakfast room, tea and coffee but no milk. The breakfast was geared towards the Asian market but limited options for european guests. There was one knife provided for the butter for toast and one for the jam which was very unhygienic in these Covid times. I asked for another knife and was given a plastic one which was good but there should have been knives provided, The hall areas needed vacuumed and the breakfast area was grimy. All in all it was a very disappointing stay. To pay nearly $300 for such a poor quality property is unacceptable. Please consider a partial refund for the poor quantity of this property.

Bästa läget och bästa personalen
Mycket bra läge och mycket vänlig personal, nära till allt. Att hitta ett bättre hotell till detta pris med nära till allt och med så extremt vänlig personal torde vara svårt. Klimatet i Singapore är väldigt fuktigt året runt och den fukten verkar hålla på att äta sig in i hotellet, en renovering torde stå på att göra listan snart.

This hotel definitely needs remodeling. Very old and moldy all over. My bath towel has mold all over. I mean that should have been thrown away. The edge was all black. The staff is nice and efficient. That’s the only thing good. Other than that, I don’t think I will come back again.

A great location. Short walk to Clarke Quay MRT to get the MRT to many attractions and the airport. Short walk to Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and Chinatown with many food options and things to explore. Staff were friendly. Rooms are a good size and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

The service is a bit slugging. During breakfast the garbage can was completely full and we can’t push down our used disposable plates into it. Also shortly after eating the breakfast my wife started to have diarrhea and we suspected there’s something wrong with the food.

Great location but not a great hotel
The rooms are quite small, fine if you’re young and fit and just want to crash between outings but not comfortable for an older couple like us. Please note that in the standard double rooms you can only access the bed from one side! See photo. Also the free breakfast is what you expect in a cheap backpacker hostel, not a pricey hotel. It is very central which is a plus and the staff are helpful but I wouldn’t stay there again.

Great location
The hotel is in a great location. It is close to China Town, restaurants on the river and metro stops but still quiet. The staff has good recommendations. Breakfast is hot but kind of minimal selection.

Pleasant hotel in a great location 5 minutes from Riverside and Clarke Quay MRT. Room was very nice and staff friendly and helpful - but the breakfast definitely left something to be desired and needs a big improvement.

Needs Updating
On arrival allocated Room 404 - No access to the bed from both sides and safe not working. Asked for room change due to mobility issues, and safe not working. Then allocated Room 608 - Smell of Damp. Water dripping from the ceiling / air con unit. Totally unhealthy environment, unable to open the window. Told no other rooms available. So the Receptionist arranged a transfer to their other Bencoolen Hotel. Receptionist was very helpful and understanding. Even though the Staff are helpful. Due to fabric and design / condition of the rooms I would not make a future booking.

This was a nice hotel for a budget price in Singapore. There is a free coffee machine, ice maker and cold water dispenser all day long plus an unadvertised free basic breakfast. Staff are friendly. The shower was hot and with plenty of flow. The location on HongKong Street is a bit noisy at night. I think maybe there are some night clubs nearby. It’s a fairly easy walk to Clark Quay or Chinatown station for the MRT.

Super hôtel!
Très bon séjour! Hôtel super bien placé, chambre très bien équipée et confortable et personnel super gentil! On a oublié un téléphone dans le taxi que l’hôtel nous avait réservé pour l’aéroport et ils ont été très réactif et nous on renvoyé le taxi pour nous rapporter le téléphone à l’aéroport. Possibilité de faire garder les bagages le dernier jour et de prendre une douche rapide à côté du jacuzzi au 5 eme étage avant de partir pour l’aéroport. Petit déjeuner moyen mais convenable. Je reviendrai!
