«Truly one of the best stays of all my travels. «The staff, service and food were exceptional. The location was perfect for what we wanted out of a four night stay in Kyoto. But, it was the staff that made the experience memorable. Some of the key spots are just around the corner from the hotel. Given the crowds during the day, it was easy to see them early in the morning or after dinner when the crowds were much smaller. «We were a little surprised how well this hotel was rated. It wasn't bad, just not as exceptional as the ratings reflect. There were only 2 pillows in the room, and when I ask for more the staff informed me there were none. At a hotel? No pillows? The room was clean enough, but not spotless. «I love the interiors of this hotel. A mix of modern and traditional design. It is quiet, you hardly see people around (which I like), yet the staff are there whenever you need them. Our room and the hotel in general is immaculate.
This hotel also has an in-house bath and sauna at an additional cost. You can reserve these amenities at the reception. It was a great way to end the day after walking around sightseeing all day.»
