«The cabin was very clean and check-in and out was really easy. The decor is quite dated but very well equipped if you want to self-cater. Bedside lamps would be good in the bedroom and more information in the property guide would be good e.g. which cabin bin to use for rubbish, which one for recycling, where to get laundry powder for machine etc. Eungella National Park & various walks are super close and absolutely stunning. «The price value was incredible- it a camping site with not really impressive looking cabins, the stay turned out fantastically both due to the accuracy communication on what was most important- the beach and the kangaroos. From 4:45 and all day we got the most fantastic nature experiences. And when the sun set it was both cost and comfortable in and outside the cabin. «Mackay is not the center of the world, and the city has clearly suffered after Covid with a lot of store closures etc. It also doesn’t have the big tourist streams as larger Australian cities have. Seeing the selection of hotels, we chose to stay at the Ocean International as it is situated beautifully at the beach with a wonderful garden. «I think it was all an engineering issue. Entering the hotel, the lobby was un-airconditioned which made checking in a sweaty , uncomfortable affair. Apparently the engineering team switches that off as energy saving. Entering the room, 2 essential light bulbs were broken, the entry hall and the bathroom. Finally, the air-conditioning was so noisy that it was almost impossible to sleep. Dirty filters and small outlets. It was convenient but I would never choose it again.»

«Clean room. Great location. Had everything we needed. Communication was fantastic as we had a late check in. Very helpful when my child got sick and we needed the hospital and a bit for time in our room. Highly recommend for your stay in Mackay. Easy access to everything. »

«Solo emergency stay over as a family member needed surgery at the local hospital, booked the single cabin - had everything I needed - however I would suggest ear plugs as the highway is close, eye mask as the door is glass and a light shines through all night. Otherwise all good.»
