The room was small and that was okay. But within the bedroom and bathroom, there was a single outlet for plugging in my computer and/or other electronics.

Good views from room and a comfy bed. One thing I would add to the room is a chair, nowhere to sit. Breakfast was nice

Stayed one night property a bit tired could do with a makeover however landlord and owner very friendly prices excellent we ate in the restaurant food was very nice. Room was fine for one night might be a bit small for longer stays. Breakfast cooked to order for me a bit small but then included in the price . We do plan to stay there again when visiting the area.

My stay was short arrived late and left early. Room was Clean and as advertised. Staff were friendly and helpful. I only had a toast and tea breakfast by choice but it was very nice and on time. Would definately stay again

Pecking Mill Inn is very quaint and quirky, I received a warm welcome and found it very accommodating, my room was clean and tidy with adequate facilities for showering and making a hot drink. The bed was extremely comfortable and although on a roadside there was no noise from passing traffic. There was ample parking and the food I sampled was delicious. My host was enthusiastic and took time to talk to me and ask me if there was anything additional I required.

A very pleasant place to stay.
This was exactly as described on hotels.com. Very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely evening meal with vegetarian options. Breakfast was lovely and again vegetarian options. Lovely open fire. The room was very well presented, clean and very comfortable. Location is close to Wells, which is exactly what we wanted. Thank you both for a lovely 2 night stay. Would definitely recommend and return.

Cannot fault the owner or the evening food. Shame the room was very noisy especially the bathroom which was also freezing cold. The room was basic but ok, a tad too hot which contradicted the bathroom. Breakfast was ok - but included in the room rate, the place needs modernisation.

Lovely old pub with rooms in a newer extension, some furniture and fittings dated but adds to the charm and taking into account their rates found it good value. Menu varied with good portions. Good cooked breakfast but would have liked more options. Staff very friendly. Deserves to be better supported. Will be booking for next year.

Lovely old pub in rural area. Stayed there before 3 years ago and returned because it was good location to visit surrounding area. Very comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Recommended.

The Inn although an older property, the owner absolutely made this one of the best stays I've ever had. His attention to detail and help with any needs from chargers, hair brush, breakfast time, exact food orders was absolutely incredible. If I'm back in this part of the world again, I will definitely stay there not because of the quality of the property and amenities, but the genuine kind person Jeff was to making the stay a very personal experience.

Lovely old English hotel. Lots of character. The food was fabulous. Phil, owner was so welcoming and friendly. Pippa, the waitress, was just lovely. Great location, definitely be back!

We found the room clean and comfortable although a little tired. Some redecoration wouldn't go amiss. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We have booked again for next year

Clean and comfortable stopover, disappointing pub
The staff (manager & manageress?) were friendly and pleasant. Food was okay (I don't think there were "home cooked" signs, which is fair enough as I don't think it was). Everywhere was clean and the Bed was comfortable. No problems at all as a place to stop for a night while in the area. Any small gripes I might have are more about the Pecking Mill Inn as a country pub. "Free house" these days generally suggests more than one ale available, even if they're from the same brewery. Some well-heeled locals were parked in front of the bar pumps, talking loudly about the world, including some indiscreet words about the sexuality of someone they all knew. When a French family had finished eating and gone to their room, the group then talked loudly about the French - not negatively, but again it was loud and indiscreet, impolite. It's something that happens in country pubs sometimes, when they feel as if they're run by a small group of the locals, rather than for all of the paying customers.

Super leuk en knus
Super leuke tijd gehad, beetje achterstallig onderhoud maar dat maakt het ook weer knus. Gastheer zeer vriendelijk en zorgt elke ochtend voor een Engels ontbijt, s’avonds kan je er ook eten en drinken. Ben je 2 meter of langer! Dan kan ik snappen dat je de bedden te klein vind en dat je moet bukken bij de bar en wc.

Good value accommodation, clean friendly.
Cottage style accommodation, pub and restaurant. Excellent landlord, friendly and nothing too much trouble. Food and resteraunt were very good. Enjoyed my stay. Busy Road at the front so would prefer rear of property accommodation if I Visit again.

Family stay for Longleat
We just had a two night stay at The Pecking Mill to visit Longleat.. A warm welcome when we arrived and this continued through out our stay. The family room is in fact two adjoining rooms so lovely and spacious.. Some of the decor is a little tired and could be improved. But for the price it was little Gem.. The owner does everything from cooking to being a friendly face..

Vey nice stay.
We had a lovely one night stay before heading home to Cornwall. The owner was very friendly, and as he runs the business solely on his own (bar, catering, cleaning etc), did a grand job. Our room (7) was a two bed adjoining rooms was extremely nice and fully recommend.

Best thing, noise level was fine....
Single room, ok bed. Very dated bathroom, dated carpet, not clean. Light curtains facing the A37, noise ok but every time a car went past, the headlights shone into the room. 1 very flat pillow given. I slept in my sleeping bag and used my own memory foam pillow. Horrible blanket on the bed (how many times does that get washed?). No info given on breakfast, I missed it. Not worth £51.70. Stayed in hostels that were better.

trip to longleat
It is a lovely hotel and the food was excellent.Very clean and cosy but the room was small and the bathroom and shower were very small and me being a big man couldn't manage to get fully into the shower. But overall it is a lovely quaint place and we had a nice stay.
