«Communication was excellent with the home owner. The quality of the home was excellent. Parking was great 👍 I was just not expecting the neighborhood to be so very nice. It’s really nice to just take a walk down the street… then find a paved walking trail in the woods. We even stopped and talked to some of the neighbors to help them find their dog. Is this the Truman Show? The owners are working with the cleaning crew to help them level up the cleaning. I would stay here again.»

«This property did not disappoint! No detail was spared in making this the perfect spot for comfort and relaxation. And the views! The property was designed and situated to take advantage of panoramic scenery. Our fisherman were especially appreciative of the private boat ramp and dock. There were 3 couples and we all commented that you couldn’t go wrong with any of the 3 bedrooms….all 3 were comfortable and had their own baths. We will definitely stay again if back in the area. Awesome trip!»

«We had not all been together for almost 6 yrs and Solitude on Lay Lake was the ideal place for us to spend time together, share and make memories. The home both indoor and outdoor was set up with many places to hang out, float in lake, go boating, play corn hole or play pool or just lounge on porch swings or at fire pit - we had a great time - Thank you, Solitude!»

«Perfect place for my family to stay for baseball tournament at Hoover Met. Not too far away and plenty of grocery/restaurant options nearby. We appreciated the extra plugs at each bed and extra items for laundry etc. The couch was plenty big for seating for everyone. The only suggestions I have are more towels, wash cloths so we didn’t have to re-wash every day and a TV in the bedroom where two twins are located. That’s where my boys slept and brought their PS5 and could not hookup in their ...

«We have stayed at Shepard's retreat many times now. It is a beautiful country setting but near several cities for dining and entertainment. However, we love just spending our day outside around the pool or pond just relaxing. There are also sheep and a burrow for the kids to watch in the pasture.»

«The house setup is great. We enjoyed sitting on the covered decks with a great view overlook the Waxahatchie. The flat top grill was a big hit. The house was well stocked and very comfortable. Great location .»

«House was beautiful. High quality all the way; mattresses, kitchen appliances, furniture. Nice playroom with toys. Game room was wonderful. Only drawback was access to water; lots of steps. Hard (or impossible) for older people and small children to get down to dock.»
