The hotel is in the middle of Selfoss. The Riverside restaurant has a view towards, yes, the river, and offers good drinks.

There's still some construction going on, but the new portion of the building where the guest rooms are is very modern and well-maintained. The old dairy food hall across the street has great food options as well. Great area to stay in!

This property is very well located, close to restaurants, grocery stores, shops, and banks, with everything within walking distance. The hotel offers free parking. The spa was great with hot and cold tubs, a sauna, and a steam room, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, the spa closed at 8 pm, which is a pity, the first night we wished to use it but we arrived almost at closing time.

The spa was so relaxing after a long day of hiking. The restaurant was also conveniently located and the food was excellent!

Nice hotel across the street from the local food hall. Beautiful view of the river directly outside. Breakfast was simple but plentiful. Staff went out of their way to find me milk in the middle of the night.

Wir hatten Zimmer 502, welches im Anbau war. Diese Zimmer bis 506 sind zwar groß, aber extrem laut, sobald jemand darüber wohnt. Man hört durch die Dielen jeden Schritt und jede Bewegung lautstark. Für den Preis haben wir mehr erwartet.

Hotel is conveniently located and rooms are spacious and very clean. Although there is a nice spa with a hot tub, steam shower and sauna, the hours are very limited. Although there is a large parking lot, there is a fee to park which is not common in Iceland so that was disappointing. Breakfast buffet is fantastic! Book with breakfast included or plan to pay $24 US per adult.

Misleading pictures from the actual hotel. The hotel is in an old state and we had a room the far back end next to a busy road.

You can add your room to the Northern lights list and they call you if the Northern lights are active! I saw them for the first time there!

Hotel Selfoss is our favorite home base when exploring the south coast. It’s on the golden circle, convenient to the capital, and an easy drive to the Vestmannaeyjar ferry, and points south like Vik. The breakfast buffet is one of our favorites. Although it wasn’t quite as full as we’ve enjoyed it during past trips, there is a ton of hot and cold fare to choose from to fuel up before a day’s adventure. Since we generally rely on gas station snacks until dinner, breakfast is a big part of a hotel experience for us. Hotel Selfoss has never failed to please.

The location, room and facilities were good. For a start of the Golden Circle it is ideal. The entrancepath is very slippery in winter.

Wow! Just Wow!
Wow! Staff were great! Even upgraded us to a better room. Location very central to good things in Iceland! Easy access to shops, restaurants and bank ATM. Room was very comfortable.

A lovely hotel outside the tourist areas of Iceland, with quick links to other golden circle attractions. The hotel was a nice stay, but was let down by the late and slow check-in process, we arrived on time and was turned away twice as the room “wasn’t ready” and this was after the check-in time advertised. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay.
