We were a group of 4 couples from Ohio. We have rented probably 24 homes and condos through VRBO. Mostly they have been on lakes or at the ocean in the midwest, east coast, southeastern US. I was a bit surprised at all of the high ratings for this particular house.It is a very basic house, one that only the bare minimum was done to make it into a rental. This doesn't make it bad, but it doesn't make it as nice as most of the places we have rented. The grounds are in need of maintenance, shrubs are over grown, really just the bare minimum is being done to maintain the grounds. There is a heavy duty screen door on the front of the house that has no knob, see pic, and the window to the left of the front door has a broken seal, so it is completely fogged up, you cannot see out of it.See pic I failed to realize that this house doesn't have central AC. I'm guessing that perhaps, most houses in the PNW do not have AC, but they did provide portable AC units in the 3 upstairs bedrooms. These were not visible in any of the pictures on the site. These units work well, but are extremely loud, and cycle on and off, which can disturb sleep. These units have to vented through an open window too, some people my not like this, it does make the road traffic more audible. Despite this, this is a quiet neighborhood, and the views off the back deck are very good, picture of a sunrise attached.
