I had a very frustrating stay at Flamingo Inn in Sarasota. At check-in, I told the front desk that I had a service dog, and they said it was fine. When I entered the room, it was extremely hot and the A/C was not working. I had to go back to the office, and the manager came to the room and got the A/C running. After I brought all my belongings inside and began cleaning the room with sanitize wipes because it looks so dirty and outdated, then I discovered there was no water. I had to return to the office again and requested another room. by that point, the front desk staff appeared irritated, and there was no apology for the inconvenience. I had to move all my belongings back out to the vehicle and into a second room. The next morning, a housekeeper approached me very aggressively while I was taking my leashed service dog outside with waste bags. She yelled that dogs were not allowed to go potty on the property, and that I should take my service dog to the dog park or the street to go potty, even though no one told me that at check-in. The interaction was rude and upsetting. Before leaving, I cleaned the room thoroughly and took out all of the trash and even asked the manager to inspect the room so there would be no misunderstandings. I also told him how upset I was by the housekeeper's behavior. But he just made excuses. The second room was better, but the poor service and the way I was treated over my service dog left a very bad impression. I would not stay there again.
