The Space:

Welcome to Garden Cottage at Miramar Beach, a beautiful guest house in sunny Santa Barbara that has private walkway access to the beach shared with the property owners. This cozy cottage is ideal for a couple or small family that is looking to unwind and enjoy the convenience of being steps away from Miramar Beach.



This unit is thoughtfully tucked away in the back of the property for guest privacy. Follow the walkway to your separate entrance and be greeted by lounge chairs and an umbrella inviting you to kick your shoes off and relax. When you’re ready, a shared sidewalk leads to the beach itself. The property comes with the use of a gas BBQ, beach chairs, and lawn (beach) games for your pleasure. While the outside space is shared, the owners give complete privacy to guests. There is also dedicated outdoor parking.



Back inside, the cottage is tastefully decorated with neutral tones and nautical accents. The cozy living room offers a sleeper sofa and smart TV. Steps away, the kitchen comes fully equipped with all the necessities to whip up a delicious meal or a quick beach snack from home. Extra appliances such as a coffee maker and toaster are available for your convenience. The kitchen area is complete with a round dining table that seats 4.



When it’s time to turn in for the evening, the primary bedroom is fully furnished with a Queen bed and crisp white linens. In the morning, open the curtains to the lovely French doors that illuminate the room with natural light. Wash off the saltwater from a day of fun in the bathroom configured with both a standing shower and a separate soaking tub.



The location of the property is ideal with direct access to Miramar Beach and a short drive from local points of interest. Popular destinations that can be reached within a 5 to 10-minute drive include; Butterfly Beach, Hammond’s Beach, Loon Point Beach, Santa Barbara Golf Club, Montecito Golf Club, Birnam Wood Golf Club, La Cumbre Plaza, and Stearns Wharf. Downtown Santa Barbara, an 11-minute drive, is lined with restaurants, shops, and activities for any season.



*Please note: This property, like many of the coastal homes in the area, is near Highway 101 and abuts the Pacific Surfliner and Union Pacific rail route. Passing passenger trains and the occasional freight train may be heard at intervals, as well as the muted sound of vehicles on the freeway.



Please note that requests for late checkout must be received no later than 10:00 AM local time on the day prior to your departure. Early check-in and late checkout are based on availability and require approval, and may be subject to an additional fee of up to $60.00 depending on the number of additional hours requested. This small cottage was everything we wanted and expected. The access to the beach was literally steps away, the cottage had everything we needed as a family, and the communication on how things worked or where things were on the property was great. I could not say anything bad about our experience and we can’t wait to stay again.

Neighborhood back yard guest quarters

Perfect for what we were looking for in size and location. Fully stocked w access to nice garden. Train passing by & whistling just yards away brings back sweet family memories. Owners live on site, don’t manage it, but are keen to allow guests as much privacy as possible. (The only draw back is the property management company, GW, it took many days to get processed with conflicting information about guest verification Co. and many frustrating calls. We stayed before and had same frustrating experience with same prop mgmt as well, till day of travel).

A slice of paradise

Having recently retired after 17 years at my job, I wanted a place near the beach to rest, relax, and recharge. The garden cottage was perfect. The unit is stocked with everything you need to prepare your meals. I chose to buy some prepared foods at the Montecito Market on East Valley Rd @ San Ysidro Rd. Pavillion Market off of Coast Village Rd. was sufficient for regular provisions. The sound of the crashing waves lulled me to sleep each night, and the birds entertained me each morning while sipping my coffee. I had no issue sleeping; I took a daily nap and was never awakened. The cottage is close to the Rosewood Miramar, Coast Village Road's restaurants and shops, Upper Village, Santa Barbara, and Summerland. NOTE: ALL beach rentals are next to the Amtrak train tracks. It's never bothered me, and they DON'T operate overnight. Positives: NO stairs from the dedicated parking spot to the cottage! Many other Miramar rentals have MANY stairs, which gets old! A dedicated parking area is within feet of the front door. The cottage is filled with light streaming through the windows and French doors. Right outside your door is a lovely lawn and garden area, a thoughtful seating area with a dining table and umbrella. The beach is a 15-second walk from the cottage. The ONLY negative, and NOT the owners' fault: I booked the cottage through Grand Welcome. Next time, I'll book the same property through VRBO.

Cute place but management company was not great

If all you care about is location, this place is amazing. Right off of Miramar Beach in Montecito California. It is just a few steps away from the beach. It feels very private and close to so much! The place is very clean and cute enough, although some things weren’t as pictured or at least, the pictures didn’t accurately show how everything was laid out. The kitchen is very minimally, equipped, but definitely adequate for such a small space. I had more of an issue with the management company. They didn’t send me any information about check-in, so I arrived at the place with no instructions. I ended up having to call and was put on hold multiple times before I got check in information which, when I finally talked to somebody, they did send over promptly. The bummer was that I happened to be staying there during a major storm and was evacuated due to weather concerns. The management company put me on hold more than eight times, couldn’t give me any information, and they refused to work with me on any refunds. I had booked this place for three nights, and only got to stay one due to the storm. I can’t say the people I spoke with were mean, but they were not accommodating. Although it’s very cute, and the location is amazing, I personally didn’t have a great experience with the rental company and probably wouldn’t recommend. I think you can get places even cuter around the same price in Montecito that have better companies to work with.

Montecito Beach Cottage

This VRBO is a very cozy cottage, steps from Miramar beach in Montecito. Although its not fancy, its very clean and has nice amenities including a very comfortable bed. Its located in a great neighborhood and close to all of the attractions near Montecito. We stayed to celebrate my birthday and had a great dinner at Caruso's in the Rosewood resort - a short walk from the cottage. We were happy, felt the price was appropriate, and would definitely do it again.

Beautiful beachfront cottage

My family had a wonderful time walking down to the beach for breakfast and coming back In the afternoon for sunset walks. Cottage was well kept and classic Santa Barbara Spanish style. Loved out stay. Hosts were very nice and accommodating.
