Could be better
Large room, comfy bed. The room seemed worn, and the shower did not work properly, the was almost no pressure and there was no way to regulate the temperature. We had to shower i cold water, and there was so little water pressure that we had difficulty rinsing off the soap. We were in sandwich for a wedding so not beeing able to shower properly was unfortunate. We talked with the staff about this the first day and they said they would look at is, but they never did. The location was great.

It's a very old property
The Hotel and venue was good but due to the age of the hotel the rooms could do with some tlc - the bed was confortable - the food was good. The hospitality was good.

Comfortable, friendly and affordable hotel and pub
A pleasant, town centre hotel. We enjoyed the friendly staff, decent, if somewhat dated, room and lovely food and beverages at reasonable prices in the pub/restaurant. As stated, the room was dated but clean. Only a few issues… The tv was visible from the sofa but not from the bed. Also, it was a Friday night with live music downstairs. Our window looked out over the front door so those hanging around outside were easily heard and did keep us up until after midnight. I knew of this issue ahead of time and was planning on being downstairs and enjoying the music myself, but a migraine sent me to bed early so the music and partying became an issue. However, if you plan on staying up late, you may enjoy it as the pub seemed to have a lovely, fun atmosphere. Can’t complain as the problem was mine. The town of Sandwich was lovely and hope to come again sometime. Would stay here again.
We shared the 5 small plates for £25. Excellent food and plenty of it.

Great location, clean large rooms and lovely breakfast. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Good value for money. It is a pub so be aware it can be noisy at closing time if you have a room at the front of the property.

Great stay at the Fleur-de-lis
Fantastic stay at the Fleur-de-lis. Staff were amazing. We booked the family room, which gave us plenty of space. The Folk and Ale festival was on while we were there, so lots going on and live music everywhere 👌 Delicious breakfasts and very comfy beds. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. The room was nice and big, comfortable beds and all very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really nice. The hotel was right in the centre of Sandwich and I would stay again if returning to Sandwich.

There was a fire exit light in the room, making it too bright to sleep. There was no way to turn it off and we didn’t have sleep masks with us. This needs to be removed or eye masks should be provided. The bathroom was covered in mould. Would not recommend.

Nicely friendly accommodation
Excellent location and the service was very friendly. The room was tired, overall could do with less, and could do with a little tidy up, some bedside lights. The bathroom could be better presented, the shower leaked, the grouting needed cleaning and the ceiling. But overall was comfortable.

Not bad, not great, just OK
The good: great location nice staff breakfast included in price (although we did not try it) Sandwich was a pleasant surprise. Spacious room cheap-ish (which does not mean good value) The not so good: Lack of attention to detail (only one set of toiletries for two people, incorrect wifi password in the room, lamp disconnected from the mains, shower lever was so stiff I thought I'd break it) Almost non existent noise insulation, so if the pub is expected to be busy there will be noise until closing time. Lastly, worst mattress I have slept on in a while, it was beyond soft

Nice room, shame about the noise.
I suppose having a room above a pub you should expect noise and yes it was noisy, plus our room overlooked another pub so more noise there! Frustrating also was that the walls were thin and the couple next door were v noisy but that could be just bad luck. Plus the manager was knocking on people’s doors requesting room payment at some point after 10.30pm! On the plus side the room was a good size and the bed comfortable. They also left a basket full of crisps and popcorn which I thought a lovely touch. The breakfast choice was amazing, from fruit pancakes to full English and lots of other choices. Overall not a bad stay just a little noisy.

A Most Enjoyable Stay.
We spent three nights here. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable.Breakfast was well cooked with generous portions. Staff were friendly and helpful. We particularly liked the fact that the hotel is close to the Guildhall where buses to Canterbury, Deal and Ramsgate stop. Also it is a short walk to the railway station. We were really happy with our holiday in The Fleur de Lis.

Avoid. Filthy! The whole room was dirty. The carpet was very dirty and needed a good vacuum, dust on every visible surface. The fan was covered in dust. The air vent black with dust and dirt. Hairs on shower wall and on sink. Whole place was filthy. Breakfast was poor and not included in price as stated. We were the only people taking breakfast but had to wait. Most people breakfasted in the cafe opposite the pub, which we should have done. Our first menu choice couldn’t be accommodated because the chef ran out of the ‘mix’ for pancakes. We ordered poached eggs instead which were overcooked and the toast was cold. The only positive was the young staff members who were very nice. Would not stay again. They didn’t even do the basics. A vacuum, a clean shower and and a dust would be the minimum if charging people for a room.

Good hotel for one night stopover
Good room for a one-night stopover on our way home from somewhere else. Staff were very friendly and beds were comfortable. Our room had the sun on it all afternoon so it wa very hot and we only had one small fan for the three of us. The bathroom was small but functional and clean. The room decor was a bit dated and there were some cobwebs and skirting was dusty so cleanliness could have been better given the current situation.
