«Do not be discouraged by the road to Rancho Humo, what lies at the end turned out to be a real gem.
This property is nestled up against the central wetlands of Nicoya peninsula on the shore of the Tempisque river and is a definitive location for birdwatchers from all over. My wife and I are not birdwatchers but booked this based on its remote location and its high marks from other reviews. «You don't stay in Arenal for the area around the B&Bs. You go to Arenal because it's funky and quiet and friendly . We return to Casa Donna Rosa for the welcoming owners and most of all for the fantastic breakfast preparations. I have only been gone one day and I miss their breakfasts already. Home baked Challah in think hunks with baked crisp finish the their french toast...yumm even before you try adding the smear of preserves. Great Costa Rican coffee is served with pots of wam milk. »

«La Mansion is such a great value offer at the Lake Arenal. Its one of those places that seem timeless and quiet - and that is a very good thing.
The staff goes out of their way to assist you to make the most of your stay in the rain forest. Whether that's booking day trips, activities or just giving you tips on hikes in the local area, they are there for you and will do their utmost to help you with you plans.
The restaurant is also a treat - in fact the best food we ever had in this area came ...
