Good place to stay for one night if you are driving through to La Fortuna and need a stop before the longer drive. There isn’t much to do around this area, without a lot of driving. As a result, we abandoned our pre-paid second night to get closer to La Fortuna.
The hotel is fine. No AC. No shampoo/condition. No hairdryer. The beer at the brewery was okay, but we live in a spoiled location at home with excellent beer. The free breakfast was great. Dinner was just okay: pizza eh, and curry chicken was rubbery.
The indoor hot tub wasn’t running a filter and was not hot. It wasn’t at all appealing to get in, so we did not.
The grounds are nice and charming. A little pig ran past our door with great delight to us. There were also 3 dogs on site that were friendly and adorable.
Staff was very nice.
We entered our room to a (large) dead bug surrounded by ants, which made us uncomfortable. Without air conditioning, the room was 100% moist and not comfortable for sleeping. I did not venture to unpack and kept everything off the floor. The water was not hot enough to my liking in the shower.
Overall, location was convenient but uneventful. Staff was great. Room was not spectacular, even though the layout would have been stellar with 2 full bedrooms and a kitchen in the middle. We just didn’t want to spend any time in there. We did love playing pool while sampling their beers. Stay for one night.
