Our stay at Hotel Rumbao, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel was a mixed experience, mainly due to poor service, lack of organization, and inconsistent housekeeping.
The check-in process was disorganized and unprofessional. The front desk staff was not very polite or welcoming, and communication was inconsistent. We were repeatedly told the room would be ready shortly, only to be asked to wait again. It felt unfair, as if rooms were being assigned arbitrarily without a clear system or explanation.
Guest services were also disappointing. According to our Expedia booking, the room should include an electric kettle and a coffee maker. While there was a coffee maker in the room, it did not work properly, and there was no electric kettle. After multiple calls and waiting several hours, we were only provided with a pot of hot water. Later, we were told the hotel does not provide electric kettles and that guests should get hot water from the restaurant themselves.
Housekeeping was extremely inconsistent. During our four-days stay, our room was cleaned only once, and that was late in the afternoon on the last night (around 5 PM), only after following up twice with the front desk, despite daily housekeeping being advertised. Even more frustrating, the housekeeping staff discarded food and fruit we had purchased that were inside a bag, without checking the contents of the bag or confirming with us first. This was unacceptable.
