We took a cab to 412 Calle Norzagaray. That had a locked gate. So we were on the sidewalk with nowhere to go and not knowing anyone. We walked around the block to the other side of building to 413 Calle Sol. Another locked Gate. A local couple told us they knew the owner and offered to call them. The owner said we had to go to 262 Calle Sol to check in. We had to our carry our 2 large and 2 carry-on luggage 3 blocks down the street on uneven streets and cobblestone roads to Check in. They said we couldn't have our room because the air conditioner was not working and gave us a room there for 1 night. The next day we had to carry our luggage back to 412 Calle Sol because the air was fixed and they were booked full. There was 2 flights of stairs to go up to the room. No elevator. We got to the room and the air conditioner didn't work. They sent a guy to fix it and it only worked for a couple hours and quit again. They never tried to fix it again.There were 2 ceiling fans in unit, neither one worked. The leading edge of the fan blades were black from filth. There was no Towels in unit. My wife walked down to the checkin hotel. They gave us 2 towels and said the couldn't give us any wash cloths or hand towels. No housekeeping at all. When you walked on floor you could feel the dirt on the floor. The balcony door was held closed with a 2x4. My ocean view was of a street going to business district.

To find location go to 262 Sol for he lobby open 24/7. The streets that are parallel to each other have the same numbers across, so the street next over and the building next to it also says 262. Make sure you're on the street before the the street that connects along the fortres "Sol". Then my building was in 413 Sol. So it's one of those places where you check in somewhere and then stay somewhere else. The condition seems sketchy and old but when you get to your room, you realize that you have a prime spot in a great location, I had a balcony that was right across the street from the ocean and the fortress. Could literally not have been in a better location. Was a whole apartment. A few small bugs here and there but not on the bed, mostly by the sinks. The building is old, very old, but updated with acceptable appliance, great TV. The floor is always dirty no matter how much you clean it, so wear socks all the time. I personally as a young male alone, I was thrilled with my room. This place was perfect other than the flooring and the light bug problem. If you can get over those small factors of having a hard time finding it and the older condition this is the best place I think I've ever stayed. Price the and location outweighed everything in my mind.

Big problem with ants. Needs updating inside. Only one key and you had to have key to come OR go because you could not open from the inside without key either, which is really hard with a group who won't necessarily be together all the time. The bed in the balcony bedroom groaned and sqeaked with every single move anyone made. Has a stove, but nothing to cook on it with, and no microwave. No hot water.

Check in is a nightmare they should do a lock code on the gate and a lock box on the apartment. There is no parking you have to go to a different location to check in again no parking it’s down town old San Juan crowded narrow streets. People yelling at you the desk clerk telling me at 2:30 check isn’t til 3 and it’s insane there is no way I was getting back around and to the apartment by3:00 anyway. There are two glasses one pan no salt pepper or any supplies only coffe no tea and enough toilet paper for ONE day we were there Three. The ONLY THING that was good was the view. A total wreck of an experience

Me aloje en la habitacion "Ocean View" del 7-9 nov. La habitacion cuenta con 2 cuartos, cocina con nevera, estufa electrica, microondas y cafetera, algunos utensilios como platos, vasos y cubiertos. La habitacion estaba bien limpia y tiene excelente vista hacia el mar, lo que nos permitio disfrutar del evento Lola Challenge. Consta de 1 solo aire acondicionado, pero la puerta del segundo cuarto se puede dejar abierta y este tiene abanico de techo. En nuestro caso el lugar cumplió su proposito ya que necesitabamos un lugar donde descansar y es bien tranquilo. Cabe recalcar que no es un lugar moderno, el piso y la cocina necesitan renovacion. Pero todo lo demas estuvo bien. A la salida el personal de limpieza fueron agradables y atentos. Lo recomiendo ya que es un lugar económico y accesible.

I will start with the good stuff. The location is amazing…literally across the street from San Cristobal. And just being anywhere in Puerto Rico is magical. The unit itself is really big, the bed is huge, and the bedroom has a built in hammock. Also, the front desk staff are very nice. The bad - the check in process is a little confusing…the keys are in a hotel couple blocks away, and we got our keys and went back, only to find our unit wasn’t at the address listed, but on a wholly different street. But most importantly, like others mentioned, the place is a dump. I know it’s old, so it could be rustic or shabby chic, but it’s just gross in so many ways. Yuck. But it didn’t take away from a wonderful time in PR.

Ocean Views - It is an old building so you cannot expect perfect conditions. The main bedroom was also the living area, comfortable very large bed and good air conditioner. There was a 2nd bedroom that wasn’t needed by us but was good for drying the washing as it was so hot, in warmer weather it wouldn’t be possible to sleep in there. If it rained too hard water came under the door in the very hot room, but bath towels helped. The fridge and cooker were excellent, minimal cooking utensils. The stairs to get upstairs were narrow but doable by us. Great location, fantastic views. I would stay there again if the opportunity came up.

this place is absolutely NOT WORTH IT! no sea view as advertised on the pictures a narrow staircase to the 3rd floor (NO LIFT) the lobby is located FAR AWAR from the hotel itself There is no natural light in that apartment There is NO HOT WATER water is leaking from the roof SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT GO THERE!

To be honest was terrible. First I had some delays so we call to let them know that maybe we will miss the Saturday reservation, on that call she said it’s fine don’t worry. But then when I get the on Sunday 13, straight to the address is there, there’s no way to go in or nothing so when I call they said “you have to walk 4mis distance to check in” now my point is: why there’s no information of that in the emails or even in the call I did the day before. So we all the luggage I had to walk over there. Then we get there and the front desk is talking about how the phone is non stop and she can’t answer. Like a people are lost how we supposed to resolve ?! Only 1 toilet paper for 4 people, there’s only one air conditioner in the first part so if the other bedrooms close the door for privacy they will die w no air or breeze. They need to make some arrangements to that over there

Disappointed and Heartbroken

Originally,I booked a room for La Capitana. I booked 2 beds with Ocean View. However, I received a message letting me know that my original booked room was unavailable due to them remodeling the building. They sent me to a sister property down the road. Although the room at La Terraza was beautiful, it was not what I booked. I was disappointed and heartbroken. The room they gave me lacked any privacy at all. The bathroom had a frosted door with no lock. Anyone that was in the room can hear what you had going on in the bathroom. No Privacy to change your clothes as the bathroom area was completely open to the main room. Had I known that this was the case before I booked La Capitana I would of booked my stay somewhere else with 2 rooms as I originally intended. La Capitana should be removed as an option for booking until it is completely fixed. This was false advertising if you ask me. I should of been given some money back for my inconvenience.

Well the view is Amazing! But the room was bad the first night there was a leak in the bedroom from the ceiling. All we heard the first night was dripping, we also had to sweep and mop the floors there was a lot of dust. We also had to clean the bathroom and the living room furniture was all stained and dirty. You can see from the ceiling there had been a really bad leak. With all that said they did come and fix the leak the next morning (when checked in after 6 maintenance was gone for the day). They also offered to have someone come clean the room the next day but we did it ourselves. The living room ceiling didn’t work and the only ac unit is in the bedroom. But the bed was very comfortable to have been an older mattress the water was hot and it did look like they are up dating the building.

We had an amazing stay. It was placed in a great part of Old San Juan. Allowed us to eat, visit, and shop comfortably. We had easy access to and from the airport. The staff was friendly, the coffee was delicious, and the roof top was enjoyable! Definitely recommend staying and enjoying the city!

Not as advertised

There small apartment with a king size bed, I originally booked two beds, sofa bed had no sheets, I had to call the from desk that by the way was a few blocks away, no bathroom amenities and bedbugs bite me during my stay there. I have bites all over my body. I was really excited to stay in san juan city center but this was an unpleasant stay.

A literal stones throw from San Cristobal!!

I rented this apartment on accident, and I couldn’t be more pleased. The place was amazing. It was so close to San Cristobal, and just a short walk to Del Morro. You won’t be disappointed.

Address on this property is incorrect. The address is 413 Calle Sol. The building is older than pictured. The kitchen and bathroom had ants but this is common in old buildings. The windows opened onto the inner stairway, the front windows were barred closed. The positives was value for money, location and huge size. The bed was new which was great. Couches are stained and shower is small.

When we checked in, our property we rented 6 months ago and verified two days before we were told had water damage and the balcony needed repair, so they put us in the hotel there on property, at no time was I offered any compensation, I was told this space they put us in was more expensive than the ocean front apartment. I feel as though many problems could be overlooked by waking up and at least looking at the ocean. Let me just say the staff was very helpful with questions and problems, I know it isn't their fault, but the hotel was running off of generator for two days and we were on the third floor, so the elevator did not work. The ice machine in the fridge was not working, dishwasher not working, the showers have no pressure and there was enough hair in the sink drain that you could make a wig. We stayed for 4 nights and all in all we were safe, the area is residential with a couple bars and nice resturant on the same street. Just feel as though they should have in some way compensated for the loss of scenery that we did not get to experience.

Property is far from the hotel and on third floor with no elevator. Appointment is not clean. Only one pair of keys, but it is 2 keyed doors on entrance to stairs and in apartment so if one person needs to go another one should go with him to open gate and after that come back on third floor On nerow and high stairs Only 2 bath towels and amenities not clean

I paid a fee for housekeeping which I did not get the entire tiemmI was there which was 3 days. we were 4 people in total and one toilet paper is crazy for 3 day stay. The staff had me walking for about an hour and a half to do my check in despite the fact that I told them I was lost and couldn't find the place where they said the check in is supposed to happen. I arrived at 4. Walking up and down then steep streets of san juan looking for the other hotel that was located in the back of the same building i was supposed to be staying at. Service was terrible. The only good thing was the view. The bathrooms were dirty and very small. I will not recommend it and I won't ever stay here.
